How should speeding on Broad Lane be tackled?

I am a driver myself and I find the number of drivers I see who break the speed limit is terrifying. I do not live in Bramley, but I sympathise with anyone who has the to try and cross the road as it must be frightening for them, especially anyone who is older or disabled.

I drive all over Leeds, but believe Broad Lane is one of the worst roads for speeding motorists throughout the city.

More a reduced speed limit of 20mph, speed cameras, more fines and disqulifications are the only answers. Traffic calming measures don't often work as motorists tend to speed up between the road 'bumps'.

A reduced speed limit in Headingley on the Ring Road at the Lawnsood Roundabout onto Otley Rd from 40 to 30mph certainly seems to have worked at reducing speeding.

I live close to Broad Lane. However, as a driver, living in a 20 mile an hour zone I don’t find reduced speed works. Drivers in my area (Swinnow) still speed. I also feel drivers, in general, are less considerate. Sting their pockets and they may rethink! Yes, I have been caught! The speed awareness course changed my driving attitude.

I live on Broad lane towards Stanningley end, cars come speeding down and up the hill from The Beacon Pub, i can hear them from my living room, it is very scary, it's like waiting for an accident to happen! I believe speed bumps, 20 MPH and more signs also speed cameras, something needs to be done NOW!!

The speed on this road is dangerous, especially around Bramley baths to the beacon pub, it’s only a matter of time before there is a serious accident. It’s no good putting a speed van near the black lion they know it’s there, put some permanent ones in along the lane to stop the boy racers doing 70+ miles an hour.
