Should the Bucs cut Jameis Winston?

Winston should be cut for several reasons; not just this latest episode of drinking and sexual misconduct..
He has continuing the same conduct for the last several years, and he has tarnished his own reputation.

He keeps making costly mistakes and is an embarrassment to the NFL and to
his team and team players. Winston has been given chance after chance and has continued to blow
them each time. Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well as FSU have covered up everything to keep a player
on their team. As a football fan , I am appalled and disappointed that he has been slapped on the hand again and given opportunity any other player would not have had.
and given more opportunity than anyone else would have had.

No actually it was partying that "got out of hand." Jameis had way too much to drink that night, hence the reason he was in the Uber car to begin with. Check your facts before you comment next time. The problem with Jameis is his overdrinking. He needs help for this problem and if he gets it he will be able to do less of it.

You're pretty much a crazy person as far as cutting a potentially top ten QB talent with no compensation. Jameis Winston is worth at least a top ten draft pick at this point.

My contention is with Jason Licht. He knew what he had in Winston last season. He should have traded JW this off-season before the draft and gained a couple of first round draft picks for him where he could have drafted a QB and and offensive lineman.

On that decision alone, it's Jason Licht who needs to be cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, not Jameis Winston.

If they were going to cut him then it should have been done before the draft. There were many QBs in this draft class which would have made sense. So I for one would be pissed and not renew my season tickets if they cut him now. I don’t care what the logical reasoning would be for waiting. Fact is that the decision to cut him should have been made before the league suspended him. The allegations were known two years ago. So don’t say it’s because they found out after the draft. Should have drafted Rosen in the first round and cut Winston. But that didn’t happen. So cutting him now would say they forfeited this season, before training camp begins.

So we should cut Jameis W., because he grabbed some CROUTCH...but we still letting murders play hockey, baseball, and be Senators...

History will have it's final say, but WE are sticking with our QB-Jameis Winston #3

To the best of my knowledge, no charges have been filed. If no charges have been filed, then there is no alleged crime or incident to speak of. This is still America.........right ??? I always thought that you were "innocent until proven guilty" in a court of law. Huh................silly me...................I guess in America we now have "trial by social media" in order to determine innocence or guilt. Just being rational and factional gang, I don't know what the hell the rest of you are doing.

Cut him for what? First of all, no charges and where I'm from that means not guilty.. Also who is the quarterback for the team without him, fiz... Please don't be stupid, JW will be back and M.V.P... Watch

For all those that say don't cut him give him a break just remember this is his second time something like this has happened. How would you feel if that was your daughter or sister that he did this to would you still have the same feeling? How many chances do you give a person? If he was a bottom of the roster guy he would already be gone. So because he's a #1 overall pick he gets special treatment. I say cut him and the NFL should be consistent with punishment on these kinds of cases.

The Bucs should part ways with this joke of a human being. Give the starting job too Fitzpatrick!! They'll rally around him and win games.

Winston should take his ra.ra and eat the W put on a clown suit and join the circus. He is a joke most of all as a person and mediocre as a player.

The Bucs said they vetted Winston in great detail as a draft prospect. They said they we more than comfortable draft him even while he was settling a sexual assault check as the while a Seminole. As I recall the fan base was torn about Jameis vs Super Mario and we were told Jameis was not a concern...

Now he's back to being accused of sexual assault. Nobody is in this type of trouble without a little truth being told. Predators repeat behavior. Jameis is likely to pay the driver off and keep his record clean. No arrests no charges filed but you don't just cut checks to people... There's something here.

He would have been cut if he were a special teams player. He should be cut now.

It's a very fine line that Jamis has crossed once again.
There comes a time when a team must say 'no more'....... but I would give him one last chance. A zero tolerance opportunity to stay with the Bucs and perhaps in the NFL.

He should be cut regardless. Listen, if players make mistakes what is the message being sent to athletes who think they're above the law? Just because they have money and can settle million dollar settlements out of court? You know good and well your average man would be, at the minimum, jailed for that type of behavior. Yes the NFL allows others who have drug history but to follow my stance, the NFL is a privilege not a right. You want to continue to do drugs, hit women or act like a fool then you don't get the privilege anymore.

No charges was made on Winston...So why does everyone want to let him go? { see Big Ben }Give the man a break and get behind him..With a better OL i hope Winston will be very good QB...We ( Tampa Bay Bucs ) has started over enough...

  • Peter Dale - 6 years ago

Yes, it is time for the Bucs to admit , they made a mistake drafting the PREDATOR, with the #1 Overall pick. Hey ????, Move on from Winston and make a trade for another young QB , i read that the Jets may be willing to listen ???? to offers for Teddy Bridgewater.

  • John - 6 years ago

No he should not be cut. No charges in either case. This supposedly happened in 2016 so why now. Has he made some mistakes yes he has we all have but be cut from the team come on man. That’s just ridiculous.

  • Clay Skaggs - 6 years ago

He should absolutely be cut. My official Winston jersey is already in the trash. He is a liar and misogynistic pervert. He lied to the Glazers and the NFL. Or maybe he was too wasted to remember. I'm sure Darby filled him in the next day. Bro, you were by yourself on that second ride. The optics are so bad.
