They already violate A D A requirements for handicap parking. Will urge Florida lawyers to file court action.

This is absurd - I shop and I am spending money at the stores and now you want to charge me to get VIP parking. I think is is a poor business decision and I will shop else where at a mall that treats all customers the same not one where money buys you better spot. There is a lot of competition and ths is definitely a good way to lose business .I pay enough in taxes

    Absolute bullshit

This is the dumbest idea. Especially with it “deterring mall employees” from parking meant for customers. I worked at a mall that tried to pull this. This isn’t okay, especially when there are employees who work for closing and often have to park very far from the mall entrance and walk in the dark, running the risk of their own safety. And before someone jumps down my throat, this is entirely plausible. I have been attacked twice in a similar circumstance. Sorry Freehold, but this isn’t the way to go.

Only in NJ, they will suck you dry!

I am not a fan of walking, but neither am i a fan of paying for something that should be free. I will take my business elsewhere.

Yes I would pay $5.00 to park. I have been there on the weekend. Driving up and down the isles to find a parking spot is frustrating. Especially when you have small children in strollers. Parking closer would really help especially when the weather is bad.

Absolutely absurd!! I’ll go to another mall/store thank you! Unfortunately there are lazy/stupid people that will pay. Good Luck

Being a former Brooklynite, all I can say is welcome to Kings Plaza. On line shopping looks better everyday.

One thing I liked living in NJ was not paying for parking like I was forced to in NY. If this starts to trend I will shoo online. I hate the crowds at the malls anyway.

At least in the news story, the mall is just doing the pay parking near Norstrom and Macy's. The rest should still be free.
Park on the East side (I believe green section). I park there all the time.
Here are some FREE prime spots where I park.
    Sears automotive section.
Primark on second level (formally Sears second floor). A ton of empty parking spots.

It may take some time at the green section if you come late in the day. But turn around is pretty quick and you can find your space.

They can not just just say $5 to park here and the rest of the parking is free. It will not work out. Everyone wants it to be free. They will lose money instead of making it. They have to pay the attendant minimum wage. Now because they will charge, will you be able to sue for damages to your car? Or your car is stolen from the "paid lot" is another lawsuit for the mall. So it is not worth it in the long run. They will stop if no one uses it..or it does not make $$$ ..

My wife and I like to shop at the Freehold Mall, but this is nuts. We will take our shopping to either Ocean County Mall or Monmouth Mall. The license plate reader was bad enough, but to now have to pay for a parking spot close to the stores is too much. they will lose way more money than they will make on the parking. The stores that rent should demand that they stop this before they lose their customers.

Nope isn’t happening will shop at Amazon for free

Its bad enough that the on line shopping is taking over consumers from going into the stores and now charge for parking. Who are these ridiculous people who came up with this idea. If it's to hot and muggy to walk, stay home.

Between the cost of gas, time and now parking it will truly be cheaper to order online. ANY mall customer is a prime customer. Already offended at the cameras tracking my license plate at the road entrances. This will seal the deal for me and push me elsewhere. It's a shame, as I am old enough to naturally want to go to the mall and not shop online exclusively, like younger people might. We have all been handling strollers, packages and driving a bit to find a space since the beginning of malls. It is elitist to now section off parking just because someone might be willing /able to pay for it. Rethink this.

    I’ll shop online for free.
