It will take years to recuperate because Mexico is so corrupted. I know lots of people that bought house and business in Mexico in the last 10 years and they ALL loose.

Mexico is the absolute worst place for individu"al investors to put money. Real Estate profits are eaten up by Fide Comiso or forming a corporation fees plus closing costs charged by "Notarios" (totally unnecessary idiots required by law to be in the middle of the transaction) which have skyrocketed over the past 25 years I've been here. Trying your hand at bar or restaurant ownership leaves you open to graft charged by city officials for permits and licenses plus "protection" fees have to be paid to either police or "the others" and sometimes BOTH! if you get lucky and have a successful endeavor, all of a sudden you become a target for kidnapping and extortion not only by criminals but by "higher up" officials OR competitors who simply want to penalize you because you're not Mexican. Aside from all this, there is the daily life negativity and stigma of "being a foreigner" which means you have "I'm Your Next Mark" stamped on your forehead everywhere you go. If I could go back to '93 when there were such I hopes that NAFTA would create great opportunities and I drank the kool aid....I WOULD NOT DO IT. PS: I Speak fluent Spanish and am married to a Mexican. We prefer life outside of Mexico but are STUCK with assets in Mexico we cannot liquidate due to lack of buyers.

Repeal your old, outdated Fedeiso Comiso (Bank Trust Law) and their exhorbitant annual "trust" fees which only benefits the greedy banks. This outdated law ìs ďriving away potential residents and investor from Mexico.
