Who Won the First Debate Between Ted Cruz & Beto O'Rourke?

I felt the debate was a tie. I think they both got points across. What I did see with Beto is his nerves. He’s relatively new at this type of debate forum, so he gets point there,Beto showed his passion in an elegant way, not yelling or raising his voice. Focused concise messages. Class act. Cruz jumped out the gate like a rabbit dog, but wearing a poodle cut and tutu. He wanted to show his sharpness, give him the same tactic trump want. It came off as ridiculous and Beto called him on those things. Didn’t back down or take charge. Score 1 for Beto. As for the final statements to complement you opponent ... two like rang tru.. Beto have a heartfelt comment on Teds sacrifices and ended by thanking him for his service. Ted then says “well same to you” and went on to through shade further. Beto said “true to form”. Basically Ted could not do as asked by the moderator he is not capable. So Beto quietly listened and when he finished “tru to form”. Meaning predicable Ted can’t even try to be civil. Grand Orange keeps doing the same, Republicans will never be civil. Name calling, mouth taping, women hating, criminal content to rig the 2016 election., losing loyalty right and right. So again it a tie with points to Beto for civility and speaking clearly not in circles. I will vote and get as many votes for Beto as I possible can. Beto for the win 11/18

The debate was pretty much a tie. With both sides getting their points across. Beto was much more articulate and positive in his message of representing all Texans. I think he may pick up some independants, swing voters and white middle class females. Hopefully compassion , empathy and common sense will prevail over fear mongering , hate and exceptionalism. Liberty and justice for All is not necessarily liberalism or socialism.

As an independent I am disgusted by each parties far left and right policies. Not to mention disregarding truth integrity and what our country is built on, Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I am sick of politicians twisting the truth for their party. Disregarding what is right for their cause. I like the way BETO talks about working together! I will never vote for a politician that will ignore the lies and atrocities of this president just to get what they want. I think this president is very dangerous to our democracy. We will all be held accountable one day. WWJD

Robert had all the statistics correct about people of color being 13% of the population, higher death rate by officer involved shootings, and in prison. It was Beto's leftist democrat position that he uses not to report all the facts. He failed to mentioned that people of color being 13% of the population commit about 53% of the violent crimes. Which would make the reason they are in prison or confronted by police in a deadly situation more likely to happen. Beto wants to do something, you start where the problem begins which is the family unit which has been destroyed by the leftist views of the Democratic Party. You can't fix the problem by focusing on the end result of a bad situation, but by resolving the underlying problem that got you to the shooting. Beto is talking a lot of different facts and numbers, but he lies by omitting all the facts which he learned from Obama. He is saying he is for the people, but if he gets elected he will be another leftist Democrat out to obstruct and raise your taxes. When they raise taxes on the businesses the extra tax is passed through to the consumer and the employee. All businesses do this so tax cuts help everyone and tax hikes hurt the end buyer and the employee. Cruz may not come off as a nice guy during the debate but at least he has some common sense about economics.
I remember when Obama came on the scene in 2008, all the excitement about hope and change. I worked in a manufacturing plant with primary Hispanic employees. They were all in for Obama, he made promises that he new he could never fulfill, but yet it sounded great. Beto is just another articulate talker that will disappoint as well with failed promises. There is no free lunch.

Was beto stoned during the debate?

  • Kristi G - 6 years ago

It always amazes me how low the Trumpets go. I'm concerned about healthcare. I'm concerned about my grandchild and her future. I'm tired of sleazy, hypocritical politicians who wouldn't know the truth if it but them in the kiester. I'm disgusted with Ted Cruz and his winning smirk and his good "buddy" Trump. Beto and his positive message all the way.

  • M. Molnar - 6 years ago

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at the Republicans who support Cruz. Hypocrites. Willing to tear families apart over immigration? How did the smaller government and personal liberty party become the party of hatred unwilling to see facts that don’t support their wants? As an independent who has problems with many democrats, I am truly appalled at Republicans willing to sell their soul for their party. Empathy and compassion is being a snowflake?

Republicans are just as despicable as the Germans who pretended that the ashes in the sky were snow instead of from the Jews they were gassing in chambers.

You should be ashamed. Jesus would be.

True to form at the end = mic ???? drop. Beto for the win!

  • Mary - 6 years ago

Beto sounds just like Obama which we don’t ever want again and all the True Texans can see right thru him! We do not want higher taxes or open borders...his policies Suck! #VoteRedAllTheWay #Trump2020

  • Cindie - 6 years ago

Someone above said Beto isn’t a true Texan.
He is from El Paso and raised in El Paso. His nickname all through school was Beto. From the name Robert- Spanish version Roberto, nickname- Beto. It isn’t made up for the Senate race. He’s white but raised in a Mexican American border town. He’s fresh and passionate about his home town, his home state and this country. He believes in what he stands for.
Ted Cruz on the other hand was born in Canada and can’t even stand up for his own wife and father against Donald Trump. Now they’re best friends? I just can’t.
Cruz is a college debator. He did debate well last night, but came across as attacking O’Rourke. He couldn’t even say something positive about him at the end when the candidates were asked to. Beto was sincere when he said he admired Cruz for the sacrifices he makes as a senator being away from his family. Ted said “same”, then proceeded to call Beto a socialist and compare him to Bernie Sanders.
    Beto all the way.

  • Joe - 6 years ago

Ted is a lying coward professional politician. He is exactly what we need to get rid off. It is the first step of getting rid of the ORANGE MONSTER in the white house. Somebody insults my family, I kick their ass, not kiss it. Ted , or should I say Rafael is a total hypocrite. Let's get them all out in November. We need to stop electing idiot reality show corrupt host. It looks to me from reading some of the posts people haven't learned. Mmm, how many guilty pleas are we up. Vote Beto in November.

  • Abby - 6 years ago

Didn’t Rafeal’ s daddy kill JFK? And didnt our president say Cruz’s wife was ugly? And does Teddy hold up a bible, sit it down and then LIE LIE LIE? Im just remembering what our orange bafoon mibster in chief said regarding cruz. Ted is a spineless creepy liar that won’t even defend his father or his wife. What a suck up!

Cruz mopped up Beto with true TX values. If you want Socialism / Snowflake values take that U-Haul back to Bankrupt California. Don’t come to TX to spread the false truths that everyone can have everything free. Who pays, that’s right those that choose to work hard and feel good about supporting them and their families. That’s why Robert is for higher taxes. Take from those that work and give it to those that don’t know how to balance their own budget and feel entitled.

  • Andrew - 6 years ago

How can anyone say Robert won. He says the same things he’s party says. All of you that want Texas blue should move to a blue state and see how that works out for you. California would be good to kick back and smoke weed and be in lala land thinking everything is wonderful. With all the great political clowns in that great blue state. Texas will vote Cruz and stay Red.

  • Kay - 6 years ago

CRUZ IS A LIAR. He thinks its okay for cops to get benefit of the doubt for going someone else's home and murdering them. Conservatives better be wary not to be arrogant that Texas will stay red forever. When a man of Betos compassion and empathy reaches out to many Texans they will learn that this man CARES ABOUT TEXAS. That's why he doesnt need super PAC money to compete. Yes our economy is good but last I checked it was because of Obama's policies not trumps. Trump is hurting the farmers with his tariffs and Cruz is too spineless to stand up for that. OUT WITH THE RED IN WITH THE BLUE #Beto4Senate

  • Larry - 6 years ago

Californians ruined their state, now they move to Texas and are trying to tilt it to the left. Texans will remain strong and keep pushing the right way...protecting guns, babies, and the border.

  • Ben - 6 years ago

Beto won and will win the election. I’m originally from California and we’ve done so much to better our state. By adopting policies such as strict gun control and requiring a license to buy ammunition. Driver licenses for our undocumented immigrant population was one of the best things to we’ve done to improve our great state. We need this in Texas NOW. I’ll be voting for Beto.

  • Bill - 6 years ago

Ugly Lyon ted and his ugly wife and his murderer father have don’t nothing for Texas. He lost he debate just on the question about Trump bullying him. No Texan I know takes another man calling his wife ugly or his father an unamerican murderer. Beto had integrity and is a real El Paso Texan. Get your resume ready lyin’ Ted!

  • Sofia - 6 years ago

For everybody commenting that “healthcare will bankrupt the country,” I’m sorry if you don’t like it, but universal healthcare is a RIGHT. Yes Cruz is despicable, he’s a coward and definitely doesn’t not possess the ideaologies that this great county was founded on. Somebody also mentioned that a vote for Beto is un-Texan and un-American, well my response to that is, is it American to keep somebody in office that doesn’t have the guts to stand up to the orange guy? Elect somebody who ACTUALLY cares about his state, as opposed to trump’s pocket puppet

  • Joe G. - 6 years ago

As an independent and lifetime Texan (61 years) Cruz was an embarrassment. He stooped to lies and misdirections. He is out of touch with the Texan. I think Cruz has no pride or respect for himself or his family after what Trump said about them, and supposibly Cruz now forgives him. (Texans are proud people). Cruz, as my myself, is the son of an immigrant; I rhink Cruz is denying his heritage, as he believes all dreamers should be kicked out their country. (Shameful and heartless). Cruz feels the massive tax breaks to the most wealthy is good for all. As an accountant, a forecast that the state and country are doomed to fall into inflation is inevitable. Even in his closing statement, Cruz was devisive, and summarized his thoughts with lies. I will be needing Medicare soon, and it sounds like Cruz is ready to rid the program, after I have contributed to it for years. Beto preached working together no matter party affiliation, for improving Texas, the Country, and for all. Texas is ready to rid of bigotry,, and is ready for new ideas. Under Cruz, Texas property taxes have skyrocketed, and Texas has one of the lowest school education ratings in the nation. Texas needs new ideas, as Texas is behind the times. Beto will bring those new ideas to the forefront, and make Texas greater.

  • Patricia - 6 years ago

O'rourke was clearly the most accurate and articulate speaker. He answered each question with original and factual data. He showed genuine compassion for Texans.

  • Zeke - 6 years ago

That was the first time I listened to Beto and I heard what I expected. Beto won points on style and passion but Cruz won on substance and facts. Cruz is a better debater than Beto for sure. Beto took both sides of many topics and makes him look weak on the subjects. He wants to open the borders but wants immigration reform. Or maybe that is his version of immigration reform. He supports law enforcement but says they target minorities. He wants lower healthcare costs but supports 100% Obamacare. Every issue he was weak and Cruz picked a firm stance. Cruz will win.

  • Susan - 6 years ago

It’s true what Ted Cruz said about Beto believing in what he’s spouting. Ted Cruz just has better ideas and a vision for Texas. My vote goes to Cruz 100%!!

  • Kelly - 6 years ago

I’m a Beto supporter but I think Cruz scored more points than Beto. We all know Cruz lies to win, but he mixed lies with so many facts and numbers it sounded real. If an avid Beto supporter like me feels this way, what about the voters on the fence? Beto needs stronger strategies! More facts and numbers, less repetitive sentiments. We need to get out more to talk to people and tip the balance towards Beto!!

  • Scott Cockrill - 6 years ago

After talking about police shooting civilians, Cruz then says we put police in schools to prevent shootings.

    How does that make sense?

  • Hg - 6 years ago

Burglary and drunk driving charges? Beto claimsed he is white during the debate but says his name is short for Alberto or Roberto so being Asian Indian I am confused. Which is it? He talked about second chances I.e. to me letting more criminals on the streets. He talked about legalizing marijuana another unsettling topic for us in the Asian community. We don’t get the hippie or punk culture Beto comes from. We can better relate to republican ideologies. Someone once told me how can you be a republican? But you are not white? I laughed at that person because that’s how small minded liberals are. They use the race card every opportunity they get and are further dividing this country that me as an naturalized US citizen love very much. My support for Cruz just got reinforced since the debate. And just to let you guys on a secret...most I mean like 90% of Asian Indian men voted for trump and still very much support the President.

  • Johnny Quintero - 6 years ago

    Beto kicked Ted Cruz's ass!

  • Joe - 6 years ago

Orourke with the appropriated fake mex name wants open borders, flag burners elevated with cop killers:
, higher taxes, gun confiscation, abortion on demand especially for blacks and Hispanics, and trannies teaching your children all about sodomy.

If you want to turn American into a toilet bowl, vote orourke.

  • Davidh - 6 years ago

I could not of said it any better than Beto, lyin Ted Cruz was “TRUE TO FORM” a pompous ass who pretends he knows everything spewing falsehoods just like his comrade Donald Trumptin. Beto is Texas Proud!

  • D.D. - 6 years ago

Nobody watched! It’s Texas and on Friday night everyone is at the football game.

  • James Mullinix - 6 years ago

First, Beto was right on the money. He was truthful to all facts, where cruz tried to flip flop over issues that were not true to form. Beto stepped up to the plate and answered questions with a good solution to the problems where cruz had a chance in the past to fix he problem but didn't. Cruz has not done a thing for Texas except to be trump's puppet. Cruz went crying to trump when cruz got behind on the polls, Beto listens to the people, understands the people, and acts in the best interest of the people. I don't know what cruz has been doing during his time in office, but it sure was not for the people of Texas. He said he would create jobs, bs, nothing, he said he would get Health Insurance down, bs, its a record high through trump. I vote for Beto any day, any time, any where.

  • Sergio - 6 years ago

The Ted crudeza and Trumps of the world is what you get when you stay home election day

  • Brian - 6 years ago

Delusional Libs thinking Beto has a chance in November make me laugh.

  • John - 6 years ago

How can you let someone insult you and your wife and still side with them? No ba!!s cruz, Beto won!

  • Sam C - 6 years ago

Wanted Beto to win, but unfortunately I think Cruz won. Beto sounded over-rehearsed, so much that he made lizard-brained Ted Cruz actually sound more like the real human. Of course Beto is better on issues in my opinion, but I think Cruz was much more skillful in his rhetoric. You could tell where Beto was clumsily inserting the points his advisors told him to bring up. We really didn't need to hear 3 separate times that he visited all the counties. He also sounded evasive at times, and Cruz did a good job at turning things back onto him. I think Beto is going all-in with trying to get the liberal hotspots excited enough to come out and vote in large numbers ... hope that works.

  • Eddie Pedregon - 6 years ago

Ted Cruz is clearly out of touch with the people of Texas. He does not speak to voters and his campaign stumps are limited to his supporters. Not once has he visited El Paso in this campaign nor does he really recognize the demographic change happening in Texas. He definitely does not speak or understand Hispanics in Texas. Not only is he out of touch with Texas he is out of touch with his own culture . I get It it’s Texas and The likelihood a Democrat can win is near impossible . However , the willingness and drive Beto has shown to visit every county regardless of party affiliation shows a candidate who wants to be a candidate of the people. Ted Cruz is not only out of touch he pretends to know Texans and truth being told Ted Cruz only cares about himself and his wealthy corporate donors . He really is Lying Ted!

  • Sue Ann - 6 years ago

Veto won. I am a Californian and watched
D with much interest. Ted Cruz uses fear, falsities and misconceptions to get votes; his approach is obsolete. Veto represents what this country continues to strive toward: inclusion, vision and progress.

  • Susan - 6 years ago

I did not notice Beto taking under the table aim at Ted while this was true with Ted even when both candidates were asked to comment about what they admired in each other. Ted uses labels and key words as a strategy. He banks on them to win elections. He underlines them by repeating them again and again. I am impressed that Beto spent the time to visit all the counties in Texas and listen to the people. I can see a man like Beto working this hard for us should he be elected as our next senator. I am tired of labels politicians like to throw at each other. The message that it is time to work for the people of Texas rather than the super pacs and lobbyist who provide funding for campaigns means I might for once have a voice.
I have a question for Ted. Why do you assume that Beto has no faith? How can a man of faith be against the dreamers who were brought here as children and have demonstrated their willingness to study and work hard? I will pray for you as I know you will pray for me.

  • Deb - 6 years ago

Support for Cruz is the same rhetoric REPS have been spoon feeding their base for years. Cruz has spent his entire term promoting Cruz and leveraging any extreme right wing agenda item in his grasp to pander to mostly senior white voters. If elected a repeat performance for the 2020 election is a gimme. And REPS refer to DEMS as Sheeple? Lol!

  • Deb - 6 years ago

I wouldn't bet on Beto if he was the last man standing. After all the bs these Democrats have pulled its shocking to me he would get even 1 vote.

  • Grant - 6 years ago

I'm so very confused. I do not side with either party as I more align libertarian, but how on Earth are people feeling as though Beto won? It's obvious Cruz is a better debator. And although Cruz did fumble a few times and focus on irrelevant topics, he definitely showed that he was a bit more prepared and seasoned in debates. These nearly 5000 people voting for Beto obviously did not watch the entire debate as this was no landslide victory for the Dems... It's kinda laughable

  • Merrilee Willer - 6 years ago

We need new blood in the Senate. Someone who does not take our vote for granted. We need to have a check on Trump—Beto! Cruz is a puppet. Turn Texas blue. We deserve better. Cruz can’t even bother to vote on issues in Congress. He doesn’t care. Do you?

  • Waide - 6 years ago

This was a good debate but left me sad. I escaped California 3 years ago to Texas and here and now I see people ready to destroy this gift with this Beto dem socialist filled with every platitude in the book . This lone star state wasn’t built by platitudes and our future is now being paved by Sen. Cruz, our Gov etc. Don’t be fooled, remember, you have a state that’s that’s the envy of our country, it ain’t broke, it’s working for the good people who are willing to put the work in !

  • Zach Steinberg - 6 years ago

Robert ORourke is a lying two-faced shill for the rich 1% trying act like he is Hispanic with the name "beto" but is 100% white Irish and not even Texan. Voting against him and anyone who supports him is not a real Texan or American even.

  • John Cruz - 6 years ago

How can we trust Ted Cruz when he straight up lies throughout the entire debate? Where's the southern hospitality on being civil? It is clear that Beto is a true Texan and will fight for Texans.

  • Marlene - 6 years ago

Cruz reminds me of Snidly Whiplash

  • Anthony - 6 years ago

    Beto was Greato!

  • Billie osborne - 6 years ago

My vote is for Ted Cruz. He is more for Texans and less for foreigners than Beto. Even though Ted Cruz and Trump sparred in the past while running for President, they are on the same side now. The side of Americans. Medicare for all suggested by Beto would bankrupt the country. Read the studies people. Beto criticizes the police constantly, supports legalizing drugs, wants open borders and made several false statements during the debate. If Beto doesn't win, his California billionaire in-laws will take care of him.

  • H. Holmes - 6 years ago

Beto was more professional and more polite. Cruz acted liked a tupical candidate that has being around a while. Saying Beto wants to impeach the president which is not true.
I'm an independent voter and so that was what I took from the deavate.

  • Michelle Clark - 6 years ago

Cruz!! 401k & paychecks up, for everyone in my family! Things are great!

  • Jaq - 6 years ago

Cruz is such a good lier. He makes the lying Donald Trump proud. Can't stomach the lies anymore..hope Texas can't either.

  • Jose Rodriguez - 6 years ago

The dui thing was a distractor, however bush had a dui and was a two term president so beto all the way my homeboy from el chucko, texas

  • Dean - 6 years ago

Robert—the Cultural Appropriator—O’Rourke showed up at tonight’s debate only to show to Texans why he avoided debating Ted Cruz until now. Robert could not grapple with Cruz on issues from Obama Care and Taxes to Police though he tried his best to channel a Barak Obama.

Most noticeable there was not a single memorable discussion on anything Robert successfully accomplished or his Record for his constituents to the point you couldn’t tell he was a sitting Congressman.

  • Crage Larson - 6 years ago

Cruz came across like Trumpity Dumpity's whiny little butt licker. Beto didn't even have to show up to win this or any other debate. Anyone but snivling Cruz. A guy who bent over and let Dumpity drag his wife around the campaign gutter.

  • Jose Rodriguez - 6 years ago

Beto has a lot of energy and he wants to help all texans regardless of party affiliation

  • Walela - 6 years ago

The DESPERATE NEED for AFFORDABLE HOUSING in Texas, wasn't Addressed. It NEEDS to Be. I felt Beto Was Sincere and Truly Cares about the "Every Day Texan" being Hung Out To Dry. Try Being Permanently Disabled and Trying live on Average Disability Income. Majority Can't. Beto Addressed Teachers, Typical Texans trying to Survive on Income of Ever Rising Cost of Living in Texas. Beto NEEDS Bring Up; Lottery was Created to cut School and Property taxes, while helping Schools. That Revenue is n "General Fund" that is NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE for Where monies go, taken out of it. Good Old Boys Mentality. Cruz Stale Same O, Same O Political Rhetoric, No Longer fools Most. I am better Informed for Watching Debate tonight.

  • Whitelady - 6 years ago

Please come out and vote. Social media vote will not help...Many didn't vote for Hilary in the last election...they were busy voting on social media...that was how we won the Presidency

  • Kory Lock - 6 years ago

Ted Cruz did an admirable job of representing his points did absolutely nothing to grow or to build a bridge to moderates everything he said and did was to Pander to the base. He repeatedly accused O'Rourke of not wanting to work with the president well completely ignoring the fact that the president Northern Republicans have made any effort to be bipartisan in anything.

  • GO - 6 years ago

Ted won for sure. His ideas are much more consistent with Texans. Beto is very decisive. How can he say he wants to unite Texans and then pull out all this race card business! (Typical Dem. rhetoric) Beto wants to go back to the Put America Down Again philosophy. Beto’s health care policies would surely bankrupt the system and lead to a disastrous HC system like the “forever waiting for treatment” systems of Canada and The EU. For sure GO WITH CRUZ !!!

  • David - 6 years ago

Beto won easily!! Cruz didn’t know where to turn. When all else fails Rafael scream Hillary. Wow Cruz was laughable

  • David - 6 years ago

Tax cuts and increased wages?? Where? What I do know is gas has gone up about .80 cents and a gallon of milk has also gone up .40 cents. So that’s where that is going. Ted losing debate, pivot to scare tactics. Bring up Hillary, Pelosi, Soros, and cry about Democrats wanting to impeach Trump. Country first Ted country first. If any president deserves impeachment it shouldn’t matter if he’s republican or Democrat.

  • Adeline clarke - 6 years ago

Wow great debate! It’s time for a change in Texas bring on BETO

  • Meli - 6 years ago

Daniel, my advice to you would be to ask yourself if you’re better off now than 2 yrs ago? Do you have more money in your pocket? Has your wages gone up? 401k’s have gone up. Trump’s policies, which Ted supports. Beto wants to take all that away. He will become resister & obstructor. Just because Cruz reminds you of a lizard, is not a reason to vote for the other guy who won’t make your life better. Unless, you want to become Venezuela lol

  • B - 6 years ago

    Hey Kenneth Greenwood——
Good luck being comfortable and happy when your blue party redistributes your income to others. Vote Cruz

  • Kevin - 6 years ago

Beto won that debate rather easily. He has better ideas, is far more articulate, and actually answered the questions as asked. As usual, Cruz attempted old rhetoric and fear tactics. Your days are numbered, Ted. Go clean out your office, lol.
    #andnew #flawlessvictory #gobeto #turningtexasblue

  • Linda Odusoga - 6 years ago

Beto won the debate with dignity. Respected the time limits, didn't try to twist things like Cruz and Trump. He will have my vote. I'm sick of the last 2 years and everyone who sucks up to Trump and leaves their self respect at home. I believe that this country is becoming tired of this behavior. Come together and let these people know who they work for. Everyone!!!! Rich and poor, black and white, Muslims and Christians, gay and straight, etc. God is the ONLY judge.
    Make america Gods again!

  • Meli - 6 years ago

Ted Cruz won. Beto was all flash, not enough substance. He didn’t answer a couple of questions. I’m from Ca, but supported Ted in Presidential race. I believe what B said above. Californians move there & take their leftist ideas there. Tell Abbot to stop inviting them there. The landscape is changing. I’m glad Cruz & Trump are working together and that Trump is going there for a rally. Just proves they will work together. Beto will follow Schumer & all the other corrupt democrats. Please Texas, don’t let the rest of U.S fall into Dem control. Republicans & Independents get out & vote for Ted Cruz. Dems are motivated with their hatred. Just sent donation to Cruz.

  • Hannah - 6 years ago

Cruz for sure!! He is a man that stands for morals, family and texas. Cruz has always been a smart and articulate man who has done what is best for us. Beto is a socialist that will only ruin our economy and state in general. Cruz all the way!!!

  • Daniel - 6 years ago

Beto for sure. Cruz is like an annoying lizard.

  • Carmen F. - 6 years ago

Beto really tries to divide the people by race just like Obama did. Acusses President Trump of siding with Russia. But I remember Obama responding without him knowing the microphone was on “tell Vladimir I will have more flexibility after the election” .

  • Karl - 6 years ago

Lead into identity politics & division? Stay with freedom and jobs. New Texans...your companies moved here for a reason. Don’t send us into to what they left. It’s about issues and direction and Beto is not the answer to sustained success.

  • Donna Rogers - 6 years ago

It’s hard to beat a man that lies like Trump. I think it was a dead heat. Vote Blue my friends for the future of Texas, and this country depends on it.

  • Bob - 6 years ago

Cruz is another spineless opportunistic politician...he hates Trump and now he loves him. Some people are born to be politicians others are born to inspire and lead. Beto!

  • Kenneth Greenwood - 6 years ago

I'm not willing to sacrifice my other beliefs to maintain some kind of economic dream. I'd rather be comfortable and happy than well off and miserable. Beto is the man with a new plan, and this old state needs new blood.

  • B - 6 years ago

Socialism does not fit in Texas. The only reason that socialism and liberalism have any attention in TX at this time is because all of the new comers to TX are attempting to bring their failed policies and politics with them. Socialists and Liberals.....remember this.... you relocated to TX to take advantage of the opportunities that were in place when you arrived......you left behind the failed policies and politics that liberalism and socialism caused to come to a better place. STOP trying to ruin Texas with liberalism and socialism. Democrats, stop and think about the way Texas has always been.....your party has changed for the worst.....stop voting for the party and start voting for the issues.

    Ted Cruz won the debate.

  • Pete - 6 years ago

Easy, stay with a person that has policies in line with what has made Texas the top job creator and business friendly state or go the exact opposite and turn us into California. We can’t be dumb enough to turn our back on success to proven failure of policies. Also, no one brings people together by dividing into race, gender, etc...the core of identity politics. Keep Texas successful! Cruz.

  • W. Bonham - 6 years ago

Cruz definitely won! O’rourke has a lot of people (and money) backing him, mostly from outside of this state. Liberals are working very hard to ruin Texas. Most of the people that back O’rourke are people that want free stuff, meaning the benefits with none of the responsibility. It sounds nice, but it is unsustainable:

Ted Cruz definitely won. Frances O'roark didn't even get in the Starting Gate.

Ted Cruz is such a whiner. I am impressed by Beto who wants to bring us together and not divide us.

  • Marilyn Howard - 6 years ago

Cruz for sure, Beto is a socialist! Didn't even vote for Harvey relief!

After watching the debate and Cruz responses I could have sworn that Hillary Clinton was running for something.

  • Zhu - 6 years ago

    Cruz won for sure

  • Joe - 6 years ago

Cruz Killed it... Beto seem desperate and the neck folds were getting annoying...

rofl Ted Cruz is such a little weasel man. What an embarrassment, how can corrupt politicians like this even still get 1 vote, its beyond me.
