The October Charity Challenge has the same two non-profits listed ( and both are getting votes) as of Monday November 5th at 9AM.

Ironstone has a significant community network that has stepped up in the last few days. You may not realize that they serve 300-400 clients a week and rely on over 150 volunteers each week. The programs that they offer are growing rapidly.

With the all too obvious voting irregularity noted, it might be in the best interest of Mill Town to award both charities $1,000.00. The good publicity they would earn would be far more beneficial than the ill will that may result if people feel one organization didn't play by the rules after a month of very slim voting margins between the two.

This contest has been going on for a month and has been neck and neck the whole time. All of a sudden, with 3 days to go and in 5 hours an additional 300 votes are suddenly added to one side and "conveniently" stop as soon as I posted yesterday. I'm only supporting this for my grandson. Pitting charities against one another for what amounts to a publicity stunt I think is reprehensible. A better way might be to sponsor a different Charity each month.

Both are great charities, and this poll brings attention to both, as well as visibility and awareness of Milltown Plumbing to lots of local people. Ironstone has many fans and followers. Social media makes it possible to reach them, and ask them to support a favorite local charity. I don’t think anybody is gaming the system, but do think Ironstone’s fans are doing a good job of asking their friends and family to support this great organization.

I believe that someone at ironstone farm is cheating. Being 3 days from the end, all of a sudden they are gaining at least 3 votes a minute and have gained 500+ votes since noon today. Someone is gaming the system.
