I love these cars as too own a 1985 928S. Problem is with this car the price is right at the point where if you spend another $1500 you can probably find one with better paint and interior, may still have some gremlins but in the end if you fix this 928's gremlins you still have a 10' paint job. sad to say I would hold out for a bit better. still a very nice car.. maybe $7,200.

All 928s suffer from a certain amount of parasitic power drain, it's not really a bug, it's a feature of the car. I own 2 1985 928s, one is a parts car, I'm the original owner of the other, I know of which I speak on this ;)

The A/C problem is likely the compressor seals, which tend to dry out after years of not being used. It's a $60 kit from Century Auto A/C in Tucson, plus new oil and gas. It's not a difficult job if you're at all mechanically inclined and there's a complete YouTube video on the procedure.

Bottom line? Even if the entire interior refresh is a throw away, a rolling chassis with a solid engine and a manual 5 speed is an absolute steal at the asking price. It's almost worth buying sight unseen. Anyone who's ever wanted a 928 would be a fool to pass this up.
