More important than reducing the number of classifications (although I believe this is a good idea) is moving the meet up a week. Having the state meet the same week as Nike Regionals puts Louisiana runners at a distinct disadvantage.

Third option.
Saturday meet. 5 or 6 classes. Regional meets for all to qualify for state.
