Commissioner Kevin Cook is correct to oppose $10 million to finance new construction when parks and rec has deferred maintenance obligations.
Commissioners Bob Archer and Bill Riphahn are right: The new park would be a boon to the entire community.
Que sera sera. Whatever commissioners decide next Monday is fine with me.
What about the rest of the city's parks and rec needs? Why spend so much on that southwest Topeka area when it already features a golf course and relatively new swim facility?
