Only one man used a piece of equipment to hit another man in the head. Go ahead and go to work, take a piece of equipment, hit a coworker in the head in front of others. common sense

MASON "STARTED" THIS WHOLE THING BY TRYING TO TAKE OF MYLES HELMET! THEN KICKING HIM, THEN GOING AFTER HIM (AFTER) THE TWO HAD BEEN SEPERATED, , ,BUT AS ALWAYS, THE WHITE PLAYER GETS THE EASY OFF, , , , , ,THE OLD SAYING SAYS: WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. THATS WHY MASON GOT HIT WITH THE HELMET.

Mason should not get suspended or fined. What do you want him to do when a 270 lb criminal attacks be him. Look at the record of the perpetrator. Ever since he has been in the league he has been violating the rules. This is not his first time to be punished. He should be banished from the league for ever. He is nothing but a troublemaker, a criminal. Mason is lucky he did not get hurt where he would not be able to ever play another down. Mason's defenders deserve nothing. They should receive commendations and be paid any of the fines that will be assessed from Myles. No Steeler should be punished whatsoever..
Myles deserves the death penalty and a party thrown to celebrate his expulsion from the league. Good riddance, but the commissioner does not have the guts to do what is right. Death penalty!

I think it started with a late hit, after the ball was gone, after the game was all but won.then Garrett not letting him up. Rudolph was trying to get Garret off him, but Garrett appears to be enjoying pinning him down, humiliating him further. I dont see him kicking him in the balls, just pushing his leg against him, struggling to get up. Garrett didnt appear to be in that kind of pain; and when he pulled Rudolph up like a rag doll, and brutally ripped that helmet off, too much. No excuse for what came next. We don't know what Mason would have done when he rushed toward him, but his own teammate blocked his path, so no excuse for Garrett hitting his bare head with that force, or at all. Mason's anger was defensive from the word go. Garrett should have immediately gotten up, play over.

    Seriously,
    Are you that blind?
    1. Yes Myles deserves the most punishment, come back to this first point after you read the whole response.
    2. Rudolph was already seeing RED, he was sacked twice 3rd and 29 and a late hit/not hard tackle my Myles...equals a flag... end of game..BUT Rudolph didn't want it done there.
    3. Rudolph tried to take Myles helmet off, rewatch the tape, he was digging for it while Myles was trying to get off of him. THIS STARTED THE WHOLE THING! Again refer to #1
    4. Myles showed Rudolph how to actually do it...
    5. Clearly Rudolph is defeated physically, mentally, you name it and seeing RED.
    6. Two lineman pull Myles away, and clearly he is the "victor" of the battle.
"Rule #1 in a fight, when separating... PULL THE LOSER AWAY, never pull the winner.... the loser will try to save face and get one last blow/say/haymaker in...
    7. This is when Rudolph returns, still seeing RED, to get one last one in, when ....hello... THE FIGHT IS NEUTRALIZED! Again please refer to #1
    8. This is my speculation... Rudolph grabs myles shoulder... there is a pause the a jerk reaction from Myles to hit him... I think Rudolph called Myles a Bytch...and Myles lost it, and it was a snap reaction... Is this an excuse..NO.. you are a Professional... again #1 above... However, Never, Never call anyone a Bytch... AND especially a black man... unless you want to see what comes next... go test my theory..lol

    Synopsis from me
Myles, End of season Suspension no pay, and 1st strike for him and to rest of League that this is now become a ZERO TOLLERANCE ACT.
    Ogbanjobi, 1 Game MAX, really
    Pouncey, 2-3 games
    Rudolph 1-2 games

If you do nothing to the instigator this outcome will continue and continue. You have to start at the root if you want to kill/stop something.

    Thank you for your time

Brit are you seriously gonna go there that they were the only ones who got punishment because they were black? Had nothing to do with it. The ball was out of Rudolph’s hand way before Garrett tackled him and he outweighs him by 40-50lbs. He had every right to defend himself while laying on his back with Garrett laying on top of him!!

  • sam - 5 years ago

Why did he try to twist off garrets helmet first?

  • Brit - 5 years ago

Not one to usually go there, but find it interesting that 3 people were suspended, all three were black men. Ogbanjobi got a game for simply shoving (white) QB to the ground, and the (white) man who started everything by trying to rip off Garrett's helmet, then kicking him in the groin, and charging him again afterwards, gets absolutely no games?? NFL needs some new people in charge, especially in their PR department.

seams like the media loves the quarterbacks a little to much . How can anybody defend what he tried to do,or not even mention it . Garrett crossed a line yes . The rule book says the penalty for using a helmet as a weapon is 15 yards and disqualified for the game . Mason started the fight extended the fight when it could have been and should have been over. He should be out for min of 4 games .

I agree with you. What would you do if some Giant had pinned you and you were trying to defend yourself? Got to get him where it will disable him the quickest.

Rudolph’s teammates had Garrett restrained & Mason made an attempt to get at Myles....while Myles got the punishment he deserved, Rudolph could have distanced himself from the brawl & avoided the unfortunate set of events that ensued.

First, Myles Garrett was wrong to swing the helmet, but you obviously missed the part where Mason Rudolph tried ripping Garrett’s helmet off prior to Garrett successfully removing Rudolph’s. Two Steelers players push Garrett off and back, and Rudolph continues to go at him. Rudolph instigated and escalated. He should definitely face a harsher punishment than a fine.

Instigators usually get off the easiest and obviously in this situation Myles should be disciplined the most severely as he has been. However, the incident would have never happened if Mason didn’t first attempt to pull off Myles’ helmet and then kick him. When the incident should have been over after the helmet was off, Mason lost it and came at Myles again instigating and keeping what should have been a finished incident done into what it was. Mason started and continued it and should be held responsible. Most incidents are never dissected appropriately to find true cause. What we do to others can change everything. At least Mason should man up and take responsibility for what he did...”bush league is right!”
