I would definitely agree with what was said above about Chris Buck. Him and his band Cardinal Black are one of the most clean, all around put together bands in today's time. I know alot of Americans haven't heard of them but let me tell you, shivers and crying happen just about everytime me and my husband listen to them. Truly remarkable. But if you are a blues fan especially Mayer, give him a listen. He is truly a legend in the making and my morning coffee wouldn't be the same without him. Go give these guys the recognition they deserve. ????????????????

Jackie Venson is one of the hardest working artists of our current generation… no one better brought us through the pandemic than Jackie… streaming every night for a year… bringing us her pure “Joy” and amazing gift to us all…
Loved by so many, one very special girl who can light up a room with her smile… and take you away with her on one of her riffs… so happy to see her name on this great list of many… truly deserving, never stops creating and if you’re lucky enough to see her on one of her many tours… you won’t regret her performance and the love she brings to her fans..

The list is full of great guitarist, but not all of them can sing and pluck. Many have never lived the blues (who feels it knows it lord). I’m going with Robert Johnson on the veteran side and Christone Ingram on the newcomer end.

    Eric Gales, without a doubt!

Anthony Gomes is the greatest blues guitarist of all time (After SRV). I’ve seen him live several times.

If you put Jimmy Page in the list, why not Slash?, I mean.....makes no sense

I think like others that this is an impossible list. Gary Moore is always a delight to listen to. I see a lot of votes for Anthony Gomes, I have to imagine that this has a lot to do with a major fan following and he posted it to his newsletter. Now I have seen him play and he is definitely good but I had to vote for Joe Bonamassa. I have been seeing him play since B.B. King's 80th birthday tour. Then I had the pleasure to see him play in small venues as a 3 piece band to now his band of who's who in blues and rock n roll. That man can play a freakin guitar. I usually have to come home and kick my own guitar because it doesn't sound like that LOL

The blues is a basic music form & therefore to be played properly should be treated as such.
My choice then Robert Johnson, T Bone Walker & Eric Clapton.

I have seen Anthony Gomes several times. He is amazing to watch. I get a kick out of people who have never seen him play. The look on their faces when he starts to play. I guess it is the same way I did the first time I saw him. it was like who is this guy and how come I've never heard of him before. the talent level is off the charts, and he deserves every recognition out there. Can't wait to see him again next month. If you haven't seen him live you need to do it. You'll see what I'm talking about.

Great list - So nice to see so many of the next/now generation included in the options - I've been lucky enough to see live 35 of these masters of which 31 are still with us bending the strings and on the road - May the Blues be with you

To me it's a hard pick between Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher and I'm not even Irish

  • Bryan David Bowman - 3 months ago

Terry F Kath??? are you f kidding me? with all respect the guy could play. But seriously? BTW what about the Meyers Brothers? or Ike Turner? Willie Steel? Loud rock stars, especially in cowboy hats, need not apply.

It 's either Johnny Winter or SRV . I voted for JW because his name came up 1rst .

  • Ayshazen - 3 months ago

    Another vote for Anthony Gomes.

  • Phil Duddridge - 3 months ago

It will be difficult for Chris Buck to accumulate American votes for this competition simply because his band”Cardinal Black” has yet to tour the USA but to Europeans he is the greatest blues guitarist of his generation and he deserves your vote.

  • Stan Brill - 3 months ago

Jackie Venson is right up there in my opinion. She can play any style with the best of them!

I must say, to choose your favorite guitar player from this list is next to impossible for anyone who is regularly interested in the blues genre. I mean, the entire list is made up of every fan's all time favorite guitar players (me included) :))
That being said, if I were to choose one guitar "to rule them all" my pick would be the amazing Anthony Gomes whom I had the honour to listen perform live and it was quite an experience both visually and audibly. Both his guitar tone and voice has made quite of an impression.

Taj Farrant is a amazing musician for his age. He has been in the USA playing this year and most all of his shows are sold out quickly. He is so talented and has learned a lot since he started playing. He has also played with Santana , Kiss, and other famous people at a younger age. He is a very humble young man who loves his fans and followers . He wrote some song that became #1 already. His whole family are great. Taj has a very good stage presents and appeals to fans of all ages young and old. He just keeps growing and learning every day That is why everyone loves him so much

Happy to see modern artists like Ally, Samantha and Jackie on the list.

Jimi Hendrix says it’s Rory Gallagher. Hard to argue with that!

I only wish I'd made it to see a Gary Moore show at leat once before he left us. I always try to get to any Anthony Gomes show because of who he is and the intensity of the energy he brings to stage.
