The Dark Knight the best ever! and the dark knight did have a message and make you feel something.(this is to Sabir) its about how even the best people can become villains, and they dont even realize it. its about how you have to make sure you dont become evil and you have to remember all the goodness in the world, that there are always some people who will do the right thing.
that, and the awesome actors and amazing action scenes, makes it the best movie of 2008!!!

The only thing that irks me about this poll is that they used the word "recent". Why not add movies that just won instead of simply throwing in Slumdog Millionaire?
Most people dont understand why it was such a great movie.

I was so happy for Kate W.!! I couldn't imagine her being a 6 time loser. As for the most overrated, by far it has to be Crash. I've seen all the movies and Slumdog was phenomenal. Too think it almost went directvto DVD!

I was happy for Kate Winslet's win. She was outstanding in "The Reader".

Seriously..I've seen much better Indian movies than Slumdog..2 of them even made it to the nominations in the Oscars but didn't win..
I even liked Benjamin Button more than Slumdog!!!

Slumdog was amazing! How can it be most overrated? If you want overrated, then you should have put last years winner...which was absolutely terrible

i agree with Heather, Slumdog Millionaire was an amazing movie. And to those who say Dark Knight should've been the best movie, reason being it was AWESOME. The reason it did not win Best Picture is because well, it is an action flick, mostly known for crazy stunts and the adventure. While the acting was good, thats why Heath Ledger got his award, it was not a movie that made you think, or feel something. It was more of a movie of entertainment rather than something you could relate to yourself. In Slumdog Millionaire, its an inspirational story about how you can go from the lowest of the the low to complete success and also shows the difficulties in between. This is why Dark Knight did not win and Slumdog did.

I personally don't think you should vote for a movie if you haven't seen it. I agree seeing certain things on the tv over & over again can become incredibly irritating, however, Slumdog Millionaire was a phenomenal movie that I would see again & again. Prior to judging it.......go SEE it!! :D

Titanic can't be overrated - it's impossible not to like SOME aspect of that movie, whether it be the romance, action, historical context, or cinematography. Seriously, my favorite movie ever!

Dont say that unless you have seen it.
