What was the best period for films and filmmaking?
The studio years-late 20's to early 60's when studios like MGM, RKO, Paramount and Twentieth Century Fox rolled out films by the same creative teams and stars under studio contracts.
The rise of independent studios like New Line and independent producers in the 60s and 70's, producing grounbreaking films like Easy Rider and filmmakers like Kubrick, Polanski and Coppola.
The current period from the 1980's with filmmakers like Spielberg, Howard, Fincher, Boyle, Arronovsky and the Coen Brothers coming to the fore and producers like Joel Silver reigning supreme.
