The question isn't "whos the best" or "whats your favorite", the question is "what was the most influential." Whether you like him or not, you gotta admit that michael jackson was definitely the most influential. his name was the first thing that popped into my mind before I even read the choices.

  • James Hetfiels - 15 years ago

Metallica invented thrash. and are WAY better than Michael J. (no disrespect to the king of pop)

  • Frank - 15 years ago

Altough Metallica may have not invented metal but in my opion they are the greatest metal band out there now. PS I don`t care who started metal as long as it still thrives. If not I`d probably be listening to rap now. Ahhh...

  • James M - 15 years ago

Metallica is started what we now call metal.

  • Robert J. White Jr. - 15 years ago

what ever happened to Angus Young and Brian Johnson from AC/DC??

  • Trevor Blow - 15 years ago

this one drove me insane, first off Metallica nowhere near invented metal.
Black Sabbath invented it & Judas Priest took it further.

Metallica was one of four bands who invented THRASH Metal (alone with Anthrax, Slayer & Megadeth)

    Metallica are the best!!
    And always will be!!
