I agree with Nancy In the past I adored chips and salsa and Mexican food but rarely eat at restaurants now because they use cilantro in salsa which absolutely ruins it. I ask to have no cilantro but since the salsa is tainted it is not worth my time or tastebuds!

I LOVE cilantro. I can eat it fresh by itself or overloaded in my food. Yummy!

I HATE CILANTRO!!! I CANNOT EMPHACIZE THIS ENOUGH!!!!! IT IS A NASTY WEED THAT MAKES EVERYTHING IT TOUCHES INEDIBLE. IT IS WORSE THAN COOTIES WAS FROM CHILDHOOD!!!! I MOVED TO A SMALL TOWN IN MISSISSIPPI FOR WORK FOR TEN YEARS AND WHEN I MOVE BACK HOME, I FIND THAT SOMEONE HAS RUINED MEXICAN FOOD!!!!! IT IS EVEN WORSE THAN GOING TO A CHINESE RESTAURANT, ORDERING BEEF & BROCOLLI AND THEN FINDING OUT THAT YOU CANNOT ORDER IT WITHOUT THE BROCCOLLI!! GUESS WHAT? CILANTRO IS TEN TIMES WORSE THAN BROCCOLLI"!!!! CILANTRO SMELLS LIKE MILDEW'S ILLIGITIMATE OLDER STEP BROTHER. IN OTHER WORDS, IT TASTES LIKE CRAP SMELLS!!!!!! JUST SAY NO TO CILANTRO!!!! UGH!!!

When I was in 8th grade I left a strawberry peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the back of my desk, buried under books and papers, for four months. One day I cleaned my desk and found the sandwich, all covered in white mold. I will never forget the smell. That smell is EXACTLY what cilantro smells AND tastes like to me.

This is the most disgusting thing anyone could add to actual food... it renders everything inedible. Just one bite of this often hidden nasty weed with a good PR campaign and I am done eating for that meal. I have eaten or at least tasted rancid meat before and it is preferable. I eat everything I am not picky at all brains and eggs, sweet bread, lutefish, pickled pigs feet, pork rinds, deep fried chicken heads.

I used to be quite fond of Mexican foods, but since so many restaurants insist on adding this disgusting ingredient, cilantro, to many of their foods I hesitate to eat in them. It really makes me unhappy when it isn't listed on the menu as part of the dish. Whomever started to add this to so many foods should be shot.
