Dan worked for "Unique Tutoring" part time doing math and science tutoring for high school and college students in the late eighties so he is very aware of education and the needs of students. He was a brilliant tutor and the students not only learned but were inspired by him. It is remarkable for a man of this caliber to be running and we will be very lucky if we can have him there for us.

I have known Dan Proskauer all my life (he's my brother!). I was really proud when he told me he was running for school committee. He is not doing this for glory, for power, or for other selfish reasons. Trust me, it would be much easier for him to sit back and not worry about the time, effort, public exposure, and hard work involved in this decision. He has a demanding job and 3 small children to care for. The only reason he is doing this is because he cares about his town and his kids.
To help you in your decision, let me tell you what I know about my brother. He is a bright, thoughtful, honest person who has excellent judgment. He has a lot of common sense, and he knows how to solve problems and work with other people. He knows how to communicate. He knows how to work as a leader to get results. When he commits to something, he sticks to it and gives 100%. The Newton schools will benefit from his involvement.
