This one, any day over a range rover
this one have a great interior with super comfortable seats, a good American engine Ford 302 EFI 5.0, ( on the contrary the range had a old GM/Buick from the 50th build in England) or the Mustang GT mass air with an AOD transmission and a nice Newprocess 229 full time transfercase ( 2wd high, 4wd high with viscous coupling , 4wd low with center diff. 100% locked) plus 2 Iveco self locking differentials (same as the special defense Iveco Wm90 4x4).
Good front and rear angles and decent high with stock tires.Plus it is build with a sturdy body on frame chassis and have the same brakes/differentials and suspension of a specialized Iveco 4x4.The dimensions despite the roomy interior are fairly small only 453cm long , 201 cm large and 180cm high.
Motricity in offroad it is far superior to Range Rover and similar 4x4 or Isuzu Trooper and much better than any Explorer.
Rarity in this particular case it is well worth it.
Plus, has been designed by the great Tom Tjaarda (Detomaso Pantera, Fiat 124 Spyder, Ferrari California, Gm prototype Corvette Rondine etc..) and was well ahead of the time in 1984 when was first presented in Italy at the Turin motor show.Range Rover “P38” from 1994 and Isuzu Trooper as well as the Ford Explorer that have some reminiscences were presented 5 to 9 years after and actually copy from the innovative ideas like, car like bumpers in the same color of the body, no rain gutters, no chromed old styled trims, rounded body panels and full leather interior dash and doors panels included.
Some times “ignorance” can be a bad “consiglieri”. But if you are not convinced yet and you do not really understand cars buy a Range, Explorer or a Trooper and let those great vehicles in understanding and appreciative hands please.
