So, where do you stand on the whole thing?

I pretty much ALWAYS write thank-you notes. I can't imagine not doing it. And I'm a little offended when I give gifts and don't get one sent to me.

I often send them, especially for mailed items and especially generous gifts. But I don't care if people fail to send me thank-you notes.

I rarely send them. I figure that if people know I received and like the gift, I'm golden. I do sometimes send them to old ladies, though; they tend to get huffy if I don't.

Meh. I hardly ever send them. I think it's a waste of time and effort. There are a million other ways I could spend my time more fruitfully.
