Grow up and learn some manners jerk.

  • Peear - 14 years ago

The answer...No, he won't win, but he'll be nominated.

  • Chris - 15 years ago

He will not only not "win" but wont be invited back. He obviously has a serious EGO problem and this is the second time he has tried this stunt. His music... well lets hear him without the autotone for his voice. Total rubbish no doubt.

funny thing is he thinks he is great he thinks he is like mj or elvis trust me 20 years from now he will be well forgoten and when he dies he wont be rembered as a great artist he will be rembered as what he is a big mouthed racist.

LORD CALIGULA if you don't even know the names of the people we are talking about I think it is safe to say you shouldn't speak on it... No Offense I think your right it was disrespectful.
LA GUY I think we all know that an MTV award is not really all that wonderful of an award it is more of a reason to have a controversial and fun show I don't think it is really safe to call him a one hit wonder considering all the #1 songs he has Done himself and also the #1 songs he has produced not to mention the ones he did both
Kanye West is an ego and he is a bit of a jerk at times but What did people think about Kurt Cobain when he showed up on MTV in a Ballroom Gown or when Jim Morrison took a shat on stage Or when Rage Against the Machines bass player climbed the back of the set and interrupted the show, Every kind of artist has been a jerk or an ego THAT IS WHY PEOPLE LOVE THEM BECAUSE THEY ENTERTAIN US WEATHER THEY DO IT WITH SOMETHING CHARMING OR SOMETHING REVOLTING

(just to clear it up I am not comparing Kanye to the Doors or Nirvana just saying these great artists all did stupid shit to get a lil more exposure)

  • Drew - 15 years ago

I have to say First off KANYE is arrogant baby, BUT he is also an amazingly talented arrogant baby. Many top charting artists have done stupid things on award shows and it never stopped there progress. IF ANYTHING BECAUSE OF HIS OUTBURST TAYLOR SWIFT IS MAKING OUT LIKE A BANDIT. I wonder how many news reports and tv spots talked about her instead of something else because of KANYE stepping in and acting a fool.
(Oldtimer) Shit isn't racist, Beyonce's Single ladies video was an amazing video and a much larger success across the board the fact remains that MTV's video awards are run by the voting tweens who still watch the show all day long, and Taylor Swift is a hugely successful teenager. It certainly doesn't mean some rapper has the right to step in but Kanye has cried time and time again at shows and he was banned from the VMA's or something but he came back with Love Lockdown and closed the show. IF we haven't realized Americans love DRAMA and REALITY GARBAGE TV so there is no doubt in my mind that this lil thing has done nothing but increased ratings and helped Swift and West to gain more of the attention of the audience

I'm sorry "NoHalfSteppin", but I have to agree with "man". His actions were totally racist. Why is it that white folks have to defend themselves against accusations of racism, but blacks who are racist get a free pass? It is so obvious in this case that to deny it, is like pretending that black racism doesn't exist.

  • NoHalfSteppin - 15 years ago

...well here we go with the "racist" statement...Kanye taking the mic and running his mouth was not racist...and yes racism exists on both sides - blah-blah-blah, enough already. Stick to the point & quit trying to start a comment board race war..."man" grow up.

  • gina - 15 years ago

bad manners and low live do not equal a win.......he's will always be a loser

  • NoHalfSteppin - 15 years ago

He is very arrogant, but people who watch shows like MTV Awards tend to not care as long as the music and videos make them feel good. It was genius on his behalf b/c he has everyone talking about him...good or bad...it is all free publicity. MTV & it's content is so vulgar and those who enjoy the vulgarity are standing on any moral grounds anyway, so at the end of the day it can be summed up in 2 words...WHO CARES. His next album will be platinum anyway. Plus, remember, this is the same station that refused to play Black artist's videos in the 80s. So, like the station, like the fans...fickle as usual. Go read a book & quit watching so much TV!!!

  • man - 15 years ago

He is obviosly a racist Negro. (Yes I can use Negro, it is used in the United Negro College Fund) So please don't call me racist! Yes, sad to say, but racism exist on both sides!!!

    He needs his momma.

Do you remember Christian Bale's outburst, ya me neither. The public has short term memory and is very fickle. And they love to tear down people almost as much as they love come backs. (Whitney Houston, Hugh Grant, Brittany Spears).

You can't have modest rappers, the whole point of a rap battle is "You suck and I'm Great". The question isn't will the public take Kanye back, the question is will he learn anything from the whole deal.

Can he realize that a lot of people follow his opinion religiously, and a lot of people don't really care what he thinks. I think to get up there and steal the mic meant he felt EVERYONE really wanted to know what he thought. I think at that moment most people wanted to know what Taylor was thinking after winning the award. I don't think he can understand that. But I'm sure everyone in his posse told him that was "awesome" and "your the best". No wonder he thinks he's the most important thing in the world, everyone around him is telling him he is. Ironically, just like George Bush surrounded himself with only positive people.

  • JOY - 15 years ago

I think that what this JERK did is unforgivable! Taylor cannot go back and get that special moment she was entitled to because of him. He only likes black people.

Ever since MTV droped Headbangers ball and Liquid television it has gone down the drain with chezzy teen realty shows and borring hip hop. What ever happened to the days of rock. Green Day was the only note worthy performance. That Kayne Wesly guy did a very disrespectfull thing. She should have just kicked him in the flinstones.

  • LA Guy - 15 years ago

No he won't win another. Not because of this incident. He only has won ONCE and that was 4 years ago. THIRTEEN nominations without a win? What career?

    He's essentially a one-hit wonder.

And knows it so he is going down the road of becoming a "personality" like Anna Nicole, Joan Rivers, Paris Hilton, Bobby Brown, etc... Look for him on reality tv and "Where Are They Now" shows.

  • IT Guy - 15 years ago

30 days from now, nobody will care. We'll have moved on, and Kanye will still be making great music. Our youth's attention span is about 17 seconds. So despite how worked up they are right now, once the next viral story catches their attention, they will have moved on.

  • Michigander - 15 years ago

This guy dresses like what he is...a faux-street gangsta with no respect for any music but his own or other African American artists. Poor Beyonce. She must have been mortified.

Unless, of course, this really was an MTV setup. It's been a crap network for decades and continues their downward collapse.

  • Longtime Singer - 15 years ago

This guy is truly an uneducated no-class BUM that can't sing.

The trouble with our country these days is not that we have more people like this commiting these kinds of crimes but .....rather there is NO consequences anymore to fit the crime they commit!

I've heard coyotes that can sing better than Kanye can!

  • Bonut - 15 years ago

I would add the House of Representatives to P.'s list above.

  • E Daddy - 15 years ago

It is a shame what Kanye did on national television. As a role model for younger kids , he has made is acceptable to get up and pout like a cry baby when things dont turn out the way he wants. Wake up ! Its not about you Kanye

  • MJ - 15 years ago

He's nothing more than an Ego Maniac.
He realizes, just as his management and publicity team, that the correct thing to do now (to save FACE and BUSINESS) is to to the PUBLIC APOLOGY thing...
Oh poor Kanye...are you a victim now of your own ego and we are to feel sorry for you?
Like Twitter...it's about staying in the spotlight, no matter what.

  • Cheryl - 15 years ago

Mr. West is a child, and a spoiled one at that. His behavior was beyond rude and any and all apologies empty. I not only hope he never wins an award again- I hope he leaves the business.

  • P. - 15 years ago

The Kanye Wests' along with all those in entertainment and sports get a free pass no matter what they do. This country has been accepting the unacceptable for over 50 years and it continues to escalate. Until people like him face permanent removal from all award shows, grand slam events, etc. this will continue.

  • Harold - 15 years ago

This smells a lot like a carefully crafted MTV stunt to boost ratings. Not once in the last 10 years had people been discussing the VMAs for more than 5 minutes after they were over. This didn't do much for Kanye's douchebag reputation, but I'm not sure he could have gotten any lower. And, when you're at the bottom, you've got nothing to lose. This will all be long forgotten in a month.

  • mathew cheek - 15 years ago

no he will never win another one.... he should be ashamed to have done that to a teenager... he is just upset that taylor is the best woman singer there is...

  • Mark - 15 years ago

Grow up and learn some manners jerk.

  • stacey - 15 years ago

Of course he will win again. He has gotten more publicity for this than any other dumb, uneducated, ridiculous publicity stunt or stream he has ever produced. Plus, the less than morally righteous public viewers of the mtv vma get a vote. How could he not win?

  • ladyofargonne - 15 years ago

Unfortunately the repeated choice of Russell Brand as host denotes MTV's douche bag mentality is firmly in place. West will be more popular than ever with the multitude of people who like him have no respect.

MTV doesn't have the balls to sanction anyone. Especially people who raise their increasingly faultering profile and relevance.

  • ian - 15 years ago

A million apologies will NEVER make up for what you did. Retire until you've given your head a shake ....a**hole.
