Anybody that loved it must never have read Emma in their life. It was so terrible me and my friend were going insane, it was so hard to sit through. First of all, the girl that played Emma was a terrible actor and she played Emma with a cockney accent, she's suppose to be very upper class. And just so much of it was completely wrong and fantastic lines were dumbed down and cheapened. If you want to see how Jane Austen would have wanted Emma to have been done in film then watch the Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow.

Too modern, too chick-lit, too overexcitable. We'll just have to wait and see! As a diehard Janeite, the first episode of this was disappointing.
