I agree there should be a split of Broadcast and Premium stations. I just get the broadcast stations. When I go to my daughters houses I am glued to the Food network

I have loved American since the first show. However, I will not be watching it this season. I'll miss it, but I cannot stomach the new judge on the show. Guess I'll have to pick a new favorite next time.

Law and Order, any of them. The original, SVU, Criminal Intent.... any and all of them should have been at the top of the list. They have been one of the longest running series on television and are always at the top of the viewers ratings. If we are truly speaking of the show of the DECADE there isn't another show that can touch them. Some of these shows listed have barely been out a year and are already on the chopping block so really how good could they be. LOL...
Great stories, great actors and no fear of putting today's headlines right out there for you to think about and no matter what time of the day it is you are bound to find it on some channel. LOL...

Ok, this is too much. HOUSE is the #1 TV show! Where is is?
They put Hannah Montana, Disney / Nip/Tuck, FX...
What is that?
HOUSE is the most awesome show! Plus, where is 24? 24 is SO much better than most of these crappy tv shows!
I'm happy Lost and The Office are there, Dexter too. But there are so many good shows that are not here.
This is obviously not a category they took their time to put together! Very disappointed! For the decade! I mean, come on!

Where is Project Runway? This show was the first of many-to-come competition shows and was the reason the Bravo Network is in existence.

The problem this poll, and others like it, is that most people only have broadcast televsion, i.e. they don't have so-called 'premium' content like HBO or Showtime. This creates a huge imbalance in the number of people who have seen shows like 'Lost' and 'American Idol' versus those who have seen 'The Wire' and 'The Sopranos' (quite possibly the top two television shows in history, not necessarily in that order), which in turn makes these polls meaningless. What would be more intelligent would be to have two polls: one for the premium content and one for broadcast content. That way, while there wouldn't be a 'Best TV Show' catagory, at least the contestants will be evenly matched.
