Do you think that there should be a timeline for withdrawal?

I favor a definite timetable for withdrawal. In support I refer you to http://www.thomaspmbarnett.com where a frequent theme is that Al Qaida would love for us to stay open endedly so as to suck our treasure and blood indefinitely. We would cave before they could. In this kind of assymetrical warfare, it costs them little to stay engaged while it costs us $1,000,000 annually to keep a soldier in Afganistan.

The President had to decide (with the help of his cabinet and a fair amount of time) just how he would clean up after the droppings of the last president. We and the media are like Monday Morning Quarterbacks -- if we lose we would say - "I sure as hell wouldn't of made that call - I would have done..." If we win we say "that's exactly how I'd play it".

When our nation grows up and minimalizes football and beer - they might - maybe, sort of, could, grow up and support our President!! Eight years of droppings (approximately 16 feet high) may take a while and a very big shovel!!
