Who is the most questionable coaching hire in Southeastern Conference football history?
Gerry DiNardo, LSU (First rule of hiring in the SEC: Never go to Vanderbilt to find your coach).
Ron Zook, Florida (Was fired after 2-plus seasons, but will history be kind to the Zooker for recruiting the nucleus of Urban Meyer's first national title team at UF?)
Derek Dooley, Tennessee (He was 17-20 at Louisiana Tech, including 4-8 last season. What is it about Tennessee AD Mike Hamilton? Yo, dude, feel free to hire a coach with a winning record.)
Lane Kiffin, Tennessee (He was 5-15 and fired by the Raiders and UT snapped him up like he was the second coming of Steve Spurrier. 'Lil Kiffy has Spurrier's mouth, but not his brain.)
Jack Crow, Arkansas (Fired after first game of 1992 season -- an upset loss to The Citadel.)
Mike Shula, Alabama (His only credentials were his last name, his Alabama playing career and stints as a below-average NFL assistant.)
Ray Goff, Georgia (Had never been a head coach or even a coordinator when hired to take over for legendary Vince Dooley. Steve Spurrier used to refer to him as Ray "Goof." Doesn't that say it all?)
