Yes. I HAD worked for over 15 years for one company until the recession. I have watched as congress has bailed out Wall Street, Banks etc. I am currently in school full time to re-develop my career towards healthcare and have had to take out government loans so the way I see it is I will be paying them back all the unemployment plus interest when I have finished.

The Senate needs to vote YES to another extension. I live in Florida in a coastal area try to find work here!!! Next to impossible. My company closed its doors and I have been on Unemployment only 5months and have been told 1 month to go and no more extensions!!! What I am to do. We need to help our own people or foreclosures and desperation will continue.

why doesn't congress try to live on unemployment and see how they would feel if it takes weeks for someone to decide about extending the benifits for another month. Why not extend benifits for a year or until the unemployment rate drops to 6%. Oh well its an election year so they will tell you that the unemployment rate is dropping

I worked for a company going on 16yrs, on June 8th, 2008 I was told my position was dissolved, shocked wasn't the word.I activly seek employment, and find no professionalism. No call back, interviews and told I'm to qualied, hiring from within. I never in my life have been without a job. Banks were bailed out, wall street how can so many Americans be left with nothing I am watching myself lose evrything I worked. It would be devestating Congress doesn't extend unemployment, especially they are part of the problem

If they don't pass it, I will loose my home and my car. It wasn't my fault that Indiana decided to lease the stupid toll road to foreigners who decided to get rid of all it's employees and replace them with robots.
There are no jobs where I live that are dependable. If I get a job at McDonalds, I will only get 5 hours a week and it will cost me more for child care than what I will make!!
    Someone needs to help!!!

Unemployment is the only way some have to pay a house or car payment. I lost my job when the company I worked for closed leaving 1500 people without work. Most everyone I worked with has lost either their car or had to file bankruptcy to keep their house. The president has been to our area 3 times as the umemployment went from 4% to almost 10% in less then 2 years. Seems that part time temporary help to take the census classifies as adding jobs to the economy, what happans to all those temps who will be out of work again by the end of summer. I understand congress is nervous about the growing defict but if more people fall of unemployment then where will the defict be when they are support bread lines and tent city's?

This is a rhetorical question. YES extend the benefits....I suggest a full accounting to the U.S. taxpayer of the cost to support the illegal immigrants in the U.S. Start with housing; education; health care; use of our infrastructure; the germs and disease they bring. And it goes on. The illegals are the burdens in this country, not the poor souls, who are U.S. citizens and without work. It does not take a PhD to figure out what is going on in this country....Then after a full accounting and stopping of all support for all Illegals, there will be more than enough money for the U.S unemployed... Pass the Bill!!!!!

I think that congress should really pass an extension especially for those who have childrens and have ran out of unemployment because it is hard if you have childrens and bills that you have to support but have no income coming in and can't find a job and then you and your childrens have to scape up enough money just so that yall can go buy something to eat it is just not right because it was not our fault the reason we is in the situation that we is in we got layed off from our jobs and i think that congress should look at it like that not look at it like we are just being lazy and do not want to go out and look for jobs because their are really no jobs hiring right now so i really think that congress should be mature enough to respect us and pass another extension not just for a few weeks but for some months or until more jobs become available.

I think it should be continued because it wasn't by their choice . It was probably a decision beyond there control. It probably wasn't their fault. The government might have contributed to cause such the effects of the war. I don't know if I can totally blame them but the government is supposed to help when people are put in situation like this or when people can't help themselves. Do un to other as you have them do unto you. Take care of the poor because it's like they were being lazy they had jobs but layoff of fired. They need maintain the lifestyle they already had. It took a while for me to land a job sometimes it doesn't happen overnite and sometimes job hunting require expenses such as getting back and forth to interview and hair do's and hair cuts etc. and they won't people to result to crime. I love you God bless
