Should the Dallas police officers who ordered an escort for the funeral procession of a cop killer face disciplinary action?

I object to the terms cop-murderer and murderer being used for the deceased or even being considered in this discussion. He is deceased and no jury has convicted him of anything and there is clear evidence of mental illness, which may have been the cause of the shooting spree. This was the son of our current police chief who is suffering the loss of a son, another police officer and a third person, and the chief's needs should also be considered in arranging for police escort. I have seen police escorts at a number of funerals and do not believe they are only used for police funerals. The officers involved have apologized and it should go no further.

Civivlians just dont understand how much of what the command staff is telling them is just a smoke screen to cover up their actions. Excuses, are not acceptable. They need to be fired...
