Should Jennifer Aniston apologize for using the word "Retard" on "Regis and Kelly?"

I have a son who is cognitively impaired. When I heard her say the "R" word on the show, it was so disappointing. I hoped for an apology. She would make a great role model as someone realized using that word out a clinical context was wrong. Apologize, be a leader in compassion. I used to like her movies and shows, I can no longer watch them. Jennifer, un-brake our hearts and do the right thing. Us us promote positive change.

"We’re just waiting for mental disability organizations — such as the ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens)...to jump all over your major, insensitive blunder."

    irony at its best.

I do not see what a big deal everyone is making of this, no need to be so upset. Retard is just and excuse for people to feel important trying to get upset when someone says it.

What gives you the idea that Aniston reads the news? Substance is not this woman's forte.

It's almost too late to aplolgize now. Of course she should apologize. It's the only decent thing to do. It's bad enough when some thoughtless teenager throws this word around, but an adult public figure on daytime national television trying to sell herself and her movie? Unbelievable. Her delay in apologizing tells you a lot about her character and compassion for a very vulnerable and dismissed segment of the population. A simple note to the Special Olympics would do it. Surely she can compose that herself.
