John and Monica are obviously blinded with passion and rage, which is tearing apart their rationality. We have rights in this country. People are free to build places of worship. There's nothing socialist about that at all. It's called the First Amendment, morons. And if you guys have evidence of illegal money being used to fund the community center/mosque, why don't you hand it over to Carl Paladino or Rick Lazio or whichever person you would like to buttress the argument that this building should not be built. Otherwise, you guys are just not thinking sensibly. No one believes 9/11 should be disrespected. But trampling over the constitution is NOT THE WAY to memorialize the deaths of those who were murdered on 9/11. Think about that.

Thanks John for siding with me. Let them build it is a brainwashed liberal who will help hand our wonderful country to the enemy.

  • John giovanelli - 14 years ago

Let them build it. You are a socialist liberal. I opposed a mosque built at Ground Zero. It's a disrespect to all the victims that were killed on 9/11. You have no respect at all. You might as well spit on their graves.

Let them build it. Where have you been living in a box. don't you know that Al Qeada and Hamas are behind the mosque at Ground Zero. You need to wake up. We do have constitutional rights in this country. I know it better than you do. I served my country when I was in the U.S.Army. But this whole thing about the mosque isn't about rights or freedom of religion, it's about location!!!!!! Now do you get it??????? Do not let Mayor Bloomberg brainwwash you into believing that he is for the Constitution because he is a hypocrite. He doesn't believe in the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms so who the heck is he kidding. I can't understand why you are giving comfort and aide to the enemy. Radical Muslims took 3,000 innocent lives on 9/11 and now people like you support them it's just so pathetic.

As a libertarian, I oppose banning places of worship being built except for very good reasons. We may not like their motives, but the law is the law, and we are a nation of laws not men.

Uh, what "terror organizations" are behind the mosque? Name them.

If that were the case, why doesn't Rick Lazio and all these other people give Cuomo and the media the information for that it can be assessed?

That's because they have no concrete proof. Just a few comments here or there that one man made. I thought we still permitted free speech in this country? Did I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, Monica?

You need to rethink your positions and offer some actual evidence before you offer so audacious a claim as the one you're espousing. We have a constitution of rights in this country, not a public opinion chart.

I guess you never learned that.

  • Monica Johnson - 14 years ago

Let them build it..I mean we are better than the terrorists anytime but you have to realize that the terror organizations are the ones behind this Ground Zero mosque. They should build it elsewhere.

  • Monica johnson - 14 years ago

Let them build it...How are we better than the terrorists??????? The terrorists are the ones behind this mosque at Ground Zero. Why don't you wake up and do your homework.

  • Built It - 14 years ago

We need to be better than the terrorists. Let them build it.

  • Monica Johnson - 14 years ago

Let them build it. If we wanted to build a christian church in Iran or any other Muslim country they will cut our heads off. So Why should we let them win here.

  • Monica Johnson - 14 years ago

Hey Let Them build It, you still don't understand do you???? It's not about freedom of religion, this is all about location.
It is an insult to the innocent American civilians who were murdered by Islamic extremist at the WTC attacks.
building a mosque at Ground Zero is wrong. I support the U.S. constitution and freedom of religion. Yes Muslims have a right to build a mosque but they can find another location. The big question is WHY BUILD IT AT GROUND ZERO???

  • Let Them Build It - 14 years ago

Where do we draw the line? 5 blocks? 10? 20? How many miles will we keep a people of faith from congregating?

The fact is that the people who want to build this community center, whether in poor taste or not, have every right to build it. It says a lot about how great this country is that Muslims can build a center like this in lower Manhattan just as much as Jews can build a synagogue within blocks of a mosque or a Christian church.

Let's not forget what makes America great. That which separates us from the terrorists.

  • Monica Johnson - 14 years ago

The mosque should be moved far away from the site of the worst terror attack in U.S. history. It has nothing to do with freedom of religion. It has to do with whats right and wrong. Putting a mosque near Ground Zero is like putting a Japanese flag on Pearl Harbor.

  • Frank Vitelli - 14 years ago

It is disrespectful to build a mosque near Ground Zero, the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that destroyed the World Trade center and killed 3,000 innocent American civilians. Yes Muslims have a right to build a house of worship, but we do have a right to free speech, we have a right to oppose a mosque built near Ground Zero. Why can't they build one at another site. President Obama and Mayor Bloomberg are using the First Amendment and the U.S. Constitution to get what they want. Obama and Bloomberg are hypocrites.
