I think it is a great idea to make Fremont more visible on the map.

much to my surprise, I like the idea, and do not think it would destroy the environment of Mission Peak as I had originally expected, before I thought about and read the Introduction. I have ridden trams in several areas, and enjoyed the experience - especially being then able to hike around in the area at the top of the tram. I also like the aspect of Fremont having a unique asset for visitors (and residents).

I think that the tram is great idea. Going to the top is only half the fun of the tram. Going down the hill side should be just as fun. Heavenly Valley has an Adventure Peak with a zip line that operates during the summer. The Zip line going down Mission Peak could be the longest in North America. Other ski resorts also rent mountain bikes to go down the skii slopes during the summer months. Mountain Bike rentals would be a big hit too.

I think this is a dreadful idea that would destroy our beautiful hills.

Considering the motivation of such idea, I felt that there is no consideration to people living in the area. There are many cool ideas out there, putting into perspective how this is going to destroy the quietness of the nature, people's normal rhythm in the area, this is not cool at all. I saw this is just another way to destroy our neighborhood. I hope this will stop before it starts. We don't have many places like this and lets treasure what we have.

Suggest starting behind Ohlone College and going up that way.

I think it's a Great idea ! We should all do the same the find ways to help with our local economy. Fremont is still a developing city, I think. It is not as rich as or as popular as these south bay cities. We need more businesses and attractions to come in. Go Fremont !

For these of you who against this only because they love to hike, think about those disabled, young children or someone who don't have such energy to climb up to the top, but they also want to see the beautiful view up there. I don't know if they still want to keep the hiking route, if they do, it will definately benifit to the city as well as everybody who lives here. Otherwise, it's still a good idea for most part of it.

This would add a whole new level of uniqueness to Fremont, and a new attraction to bring people in. If the Tram development is accomplished with minimal intrusion into the natural surrounding, I feel more would be able to enjoy the Peak and not much would be affected.

I have ridden a similar Tram in Texas, the Wyler Aerial Tramway, and the view was spectacular. I can only imaging the view of the SF Bay as you ride up the Tram! This may also bring some much needed business!

I think it is a good idea. It is well planned and thought out. Fremont needs an attraction that brings people and business here. I would use the tram and take visitors to the site.

I love this idea, it would be something fun to do in Fremont. It would be great to take the tram to the top and then continue hiking from there.

    This is a GREAT idea!
We have lived in Fremont for 35 years and love the city.
I think Doug has done a very good job of laying out a reason for Fremont to get behind this. Let me know what I can do to help support this.

I like the idea because it would provide an opportunity for more people to experience the grand view. It would provide the experience to appreciate our natural gift of Mission Peak.

I have lived in Fremont (before it was even a city) all my life, over 60 years, and I have hiked up Mission Peak more times than I can count. I am still hiking the peak several times a year.
Being a member of the Regional Parks Foundation, I value the parks for rich natural wonder and for the balance it offers to the ever growing urban/suburban sprawl.

    My vote is simply No.

I think this would be a spectacular view. Maybe we could add zip lines to Fremont as another great attraction.

    An idea well worth exploring.

From what I read, I think this has minimum impact, with proper mitigation, on the Mission Peak environment. Additionally, it will allow more people to take in the natural beauty of that area. We've invested taxpayer money to establish the trails and create this and other areas...should we not also work to allow these areas to be accessible to those who have paid for their creation? Many are incapable of making the hike because of the physical demands of doing so....therefore this allows greater access and more opportunities to educate our citizens of the importance of preserving these areas. I think it is a wonderful idea.

I am a hiker and have hiked the peak several times. I am also a member of the East Bay Regional Park District. I enjoy being in the open spaces around the Bay Area. I would hate to see tourists riding to the top of the peak. You have presented a well thought out plan but I don't buy it. Sorry to disappoint you. Pat Snow
