After seeing 'Sister Wives' Do You Think Polygamy Is Good For Women & children?

I can't believe the "holier than thou" garbage in some of the comments posted here. The spewing of venom is what is truely repulsive here. In my experience with people, it takes a far larger amount of self esteem to share without feeling threatened than not. And before anyone starts climbing on their high horse, no I am not a polygamist. I have been married to my husband for 11 years. I, personally, am not up to that challenge.

You people who actually agree with this disgusting trade are absolutely repulsive. This is down right wrong. In the bible it says god made woman for man. Not WOMEN for a man. These women are fucking retarded idiots that basically participate in orgies. Technically. Tell me what is special about being number 3 or 4 in your man's sex life in a week. While you save yourself only for him. He is out giving his affection to many others. Love is not to be multiplied in this way. If you want to multiply your love you have kids with one woman and you raise your family. These poor women will never know what true love and happiness is. They are being brainwashed into the idea that they aren't deserving of just one man to themselves. As stated. Screw 'free country' crap and stop using that as an excuse to bang as many women as you want. These poor kids are better off growing up in a brothel. Which is pretty much what this is. Sick sick sick. GROW SOME BRIANS WOMEN AND GET RESPECT FOR YOURSELF. YOURE NO SLAVE TO ANY DAMN MAN! it's women like you who give women like me, domesticated independent and happily married, a bad name. Women aren't servants or slaves to sex or bearing children. Get a fucking grip.

I think if more people live and let live so long as these folks dont live on the system in a way that would be taking advantage (some FAMILYS NEED IT FROM TIME TO TIME AND EVEN THIS FAMILY SHOULD BE ABLE TO AS LONG AS THEY ARE DOING IT HONESTLY IF HEAVEN FOR BID A BREAD WINNER WERE TO TAKE ILL) AND AS LONG AS EVERYONE IS A CONCENTING ADULT THEN I THINK IT IS UNCONSTUTUTIONAL
FOR ANY ONE TO TRY TO BRING HARM TO THERE FAMILY UNITY (AND NO I AM NOT AND WOULD PROBABLY NEVER COULD BE A POLYIGUMEST TO TO TO JELOUSE PLEASE WORRIE A LITTLE MORE ABOUT YOURSELF PEOPLE LEAVE THE BROWNS ALONE, GET A LIFE

I find it really interesting that we live in a society that has shoved tolerance down our throats with gay marriage, but somehow is suddenly intolerant when it comes to someones else's lifestyle. A bit hypocritical don't you think? In a lot of countries in Europe and the middle east this is perfectly acceptable and legal. So I say if you can handle it, have at it. After we do live in a free country, don't we?

First, let me say that I have never understood polygamy. All I ever thought of polygamist were what I had seen with Warren Jeff's group and the ones in Texarkana. Throughout history, there have been polygamists but are usually referred to as Harems. When I saw this show was to be aired, I admit, I was really curious.
I still do not understand why someone would choose this way of living but I do have respect for this family. If you watched the shows, their children have the choice as to how they choose to live as adults. They are willing to love their children even if they choose not to be in a polygamist marriage. These 4 women married this man as adults not as forced 14-15 yr old brides. I could probably judge these people just like the next person but I am too busy educating myself on religions of the world, life, philosophy, human nature and figuring/feeling what is right for me to go there. If these children feel love, have someone to turn to in their times of need and the adults are supporting the family in whatever way that works for them; and, are not living of govt assistance like some polygamist do, then I wish them the best.
I hope the ones that are quick to judge are innocent of faults themselves. I can't tell someone how to live when I am figuring it out for myself.

It is sick for Kody to do this and he should be in jail....Robyn's children have a dad, why are they calling him dad....where is robyn's kids dad? the women he is with have very very low self-esteem to be able to live with one man and 4 women....don't you all realize you are screwing up the kids?

I do not believe in having four wives, but that is just me... I, myslef could not share my husband with a sister wife.... but I feel it is not my decision to judge these people for they would not judge me.... My friend has two wifes and they are just fine... but when I ask what they thought of four all three said hell no....

As long as they are happy and raising their children without violence who cares ? So many families have so many troubles with so many different things. Who are we to say that they are wrong ? From what I've seen if I had to chose their life over my childhood I would chose theirs. The word divorce is spoken everyday to children who are crushed because of it. I say if the children are happy and are loved by their parents, great job parents !!

Peter Pan flits about the house(s) like a teeny bopper in puppy love. re: 4th girlfriend/wife, Robyn. It's revolting and obscene. I cannot understand how he can be a loving husband or a nurturing father. It's impossible. I think he is a selfish "pigamist"! Oh, and how does he manage to whiz around in that expensive little sports car? What does he do for a living? How does a man whore pay the bills? It seems as though he is incapable of sustaining any grown up relationships with the wives or the children. A hug and a pat on the head doesn't quite cut it, bud.

Kody seems to have "little man" syndrome!! These women lack any self esteem and self worth. I would not allow my children much less my grandchildren live in a situation like this. Child protective services should be all over Robyn's arse!

If all the women agree to this then it is their business and their business alone.
We have bigger problems then this family that appears to be working better the the so called normal marriage where the people divorce within 10 years of being married.

it's not right, he has these women so brainwashed, its unreal. how any woman could watch her husband spend time with another woman & their family, is something i'll never understand. & yes, it is pressed on the kids. it is ungodly, and makes no sense to me. i think everyone of them belong in jail. Kody has it in his wives head that all they are good for is bearing children. it's not the 40's anymore people, get a grip!

Give me a break people. God is the only one to judge people. So stop. If he wants to answer to god about his life that is on him. I think it is great. Live ur own life.

I think it is distasteful that this trash is allowed to air. He belongs in jail. He thinks women are less than him. What does he bed hop night to night and they compare notes., These poor women need help. They need to take pride in themselves and have respect for themselves. I have been married to the same man for 45yrs and it works for me. I just can't believe TLC is airing something like this. My 7yr old granddaughter happened to see a prev iew and said"Nanny how can he have 3 wives. That isn't right is it". Out of the mouths of babes.
Please think about discontinuing this show. I am losing respect for TLC.
    Thank you

I'm sorry but I totally don't see the problem with this. As long as they're providing for their families and not living off the system and as long as he isn't bringing in and banging minors, then what is the big deal? At least he isn't out cheating behind his wives' backs like the majority of other men in America. If it works for them then who cares? Is it for everyone? No. Would it be for me? Not a chance. I would tell my husband to shove it up his rear if he tried to boss me around and tell me what's what but some people need that so hey, whatever.

My point is this: "If it ain't broke, then don't fix it." They aren't forcing their religion upon their children and they aren't molesting kids so who cares how they choose to live their lives?!

In my book, he embodies a true "pigamist."

These women are smart. They probaly like the arraignment because they don't have a pain in the arse man around to taken care of. I am wondering WHY the one sister wife has a work day that begins a 6am and ends at 7pm and has 5 kids.
