FYI, tron legacy is a SEQUEL to the "original tron" as many of you call it. it is not a REMAKE. so to understand the story line you would have to see the first movie to understand the second.

Tron Legacy did not disappoint. It was well done. I saw the original Tron right before seeing Tron Legacy, and the original Tron was good and humorous. You have to give the original movie some latitude, because they were trying to do too much with 1982 CG technology. I liked the cameo of Pac Man in the original movie. And we cracked up when they made a reference of the "Big Door" in the Legacy movie, because that was exactly what we were thinking when we saw the original Tron.
As for the movie critics aka "Tron Haters", you have realize that this is a science fiction movie and if you do not understand everything about the movie, it is ok, because it is a ...... science fiction movie.

Absolutely loved the first Tron, my favorite movie. I have the DVD as well. It's difficult to get though. Most probably best to get it online.
For those who don't like it, you have to had seen the movie at the time it came out, and it was way advanced if you understood the technology at that time.

It will never come on television.
No one liked it. The reason you cant find it, is because nobody does did or will ever LIKE the old movie. The copy that blockbuster had was most likely perfect, never been watched..... It was horrible....by any standards. But it is a fantastic concept to update.
I cant wait for the new one!!!

Yes I have seen the first Tron when I was a kid. I loved it. It was so progressive and I knew the beginning of something amazing in cinematography. I rented it again recently and in today's standards seems like a student film.
I can't wait to see this one. I even loved the video game by intellivision. In today's gaming standards its pre-historic, but it was awesome when it worked. Asher ~ Filmmaker
