Should Santa Cruz consider tolls for incoming motorists?

This is the dumbest idea I ever heard. Tourists already pay out the wazoo to park here. Don't put a burden on the working people who must commute. The city is bad enough as it is without me having to pay $5 every time I want to drive.

Even though this "article" is obvious satire, I wouldn't put ANYTHING past the greedy, self rightous liberals that have been running Santa Cruz into the toilet for decades....

I've been saying this for years with only one small modification; ONLY incoming at Ocean Street, in summer only on weekends, AND having a non-coastal town driver's license.

    Ridiculous!
A huge number of people travel over the hill for work and a toll would be a tremendous burden for those that would prefer to work on this side of the hill but cannot.

    Stop the liberal B.S.
All these fees are nothing but another tax and our local governments can't manage what they are getting now. Make the gov't tighten it's belts and cut their pensions until we get a balanced budget, that's what we pay them for.

And a toll booth might be considered coming up Hwy 1 from Watsonville. With cameras at each toll booth, we would be able to note who comes and goes, and maybe get a handle on some of the incoming gang trafficking.

    Just a thought....
