I know someone that was unemployed for 2 yrs. Every day he was unemployed he looked for a job and hated not being able to go to work every day If it wasn't for 99 weeks of unemployment he would have lost his house. It is improving but,it has a long way to go before most of the unemployed can get jobs. Still may people looking for so few jobs.. PLEASE HELP THE UNEMPLOYED. They would rather be working and making a contribution to society!! PUT YOURSELF IN THERE SHOES AND SEE HOW YOU WOULD DO!!

I know several people who have been unemployed for over a year. They are trying to find jobs and are taking what they can to earn money--while reporting it to unemployment as required--
I think in about three weeks that a whole new crop of homeless people are going to show up because the benefit extension budget hasn't been passed.

I believe that a small, less than one percent of the population, group of people will always take advantage of everything they can get, no matter what--they are, after all, human. But for the 99.5% of those who are trustworthy, hard working, and unemployed, who DON'T take advantage, refusing benefits to them right now will be even worse for the economy than it has been yet.

It is a proven fact that unemployment benefits add to the economy--per each dollar in benefits, there is $1.50 added to the economy because of use and need. That money is spent. Rich fat-cats don't spend their money.

Instead of worrying about tax cuts for the wealthy, when those bring absolutely nothing to the economy, we should be worrying about the people who will be on the street this winter.
