While the house is always dog friendly, we did the same for our dogs their first 2 years that we did for our toddlers: we put the tree and presents in the playpen and let the little ones out to play. Now that they are older, they sleep under the tree with the presents (which is charming) and the play pen is no longer necessary. (the dogs I mean!)

My home is always "pet proof". I foster many dogs and I have to keep it pet proof year long. Holidays are no different than any other day.
