My best for 2010 would have to be "Clash of the Titans", "The Prince of Persia" and "Paranormal Activity 2"
full of action and suspense from beginning to end, the special effects and the acting was phenomenal!

  • Tyorl - 13 years ago

Inception is on the top of my list and all of the Narnia movies are alike Harry Potter is#2 followed by the social network, toy story 3, alice in wonderland and have we all forgotten about avatar the 3d movie that put a jump start to the rest.
    and really grown-ups come-on.

  • YAA - 13 years ago

my fav movie this year was, THE GROWN-UPS!
that movie is hilarious, 5 stars from me :)

  • Mizu - 13 years ago

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World by a landslide. The movie was a great interpretation of the books considering production started before the series was finished. I'm surprised it didn't do as well as it could have at the box office.

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER WAS BY FAR THE BEST MOVIE

  • dennis - 13 years ago

The Town was easily one of the best directed movies of the year with a fantastic plot and excellent characters, True Grit is also just as good. Followed closely by inception. All 3 should be nominated for academy awards. Harry Potter lol poor acting and boring story...there is no way it will win anything.

The Social Network gets my vote all the way for best movie. The acting was great, the script phenomenal, look who helped write it...

  • Sylvain Racicot - 13 years ago

My favourite this year was Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Not only was it very funny, it was also very original. As of this writing, Inception is #1 on the poll and I agree that it was a great movie. #2 on my list, actually. But Scott Pilgrim was the first movie in a very long time to have me go see it on the big screen 6 or 7 times. If you have not seen it, give it a try.

Ya, Chris kinda hit the nail on the head there; Tron's good but far from great, but the same goes for others mentioned like Clash and Guardians, both terrible, and HP7, which was good but quite a big disappointment. Tangled, Despicable and Megamind were not as strong as they should/could have been (certainly not as good as TS3), and I can't help but laugh that Cineplex would even dare to put Alice as an option on that list.

    Good lord.

  • LIAAAA - 13 years ago

HOW ON EARTH COULD YOU FORGET DESPICABLE ME AND TANGLED????
Despicable Me, Tangled, Toy Story 3, and HP7 top my list, and the lists of everyone I know.

  • Cody Fairless-Lee - 13 years ago

You guys forgot about 3 other great movies I saw this year, which I thought were the BEST OF 2010: CLASH OF THE TITANS, LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS, & MEGAMIND!!!!

  • Bryce - 13 years ago

Tron was such a horrible movie. Im glad its not on this list!

  • Bryce - 13 years ago

Tron??? REALLY??? I just laughed my ass off

  • Chris - 13 years ago

ROFL, Tron: Legacy was just your typical Hollywood fare, all dazzle but no brains. The plot was inexcusably horrendous and confoundingly redundant. The acting was passable, but that's only because Bridges and Wilde made the best of what was given to them. Sure the visuals were great to look at, and when they stuck to the action (light cycles) they pulled it off extremely well. But in terms of Art vs. Entertainment for cinema, Tron resoundingly faceplanted in the purely entertainment side. It's basically your winter stoner movie.

I can't say I'm too surprised with your "top pick" though, seeing your other list rounded out by Alice (lolterribad), HP (overrated and second-worst entry for the franchise after Phoenix) and Inception (which was great, but again, extremely overrated by the fanboys and probably not even deserving of a BP nom.) I can't even say you're purely a populist moviegoer, since TS3, critically lauded and one of two which made over $1 bil worldwide (so as populist as they come) was, in your opinion, not "worth seeing."

    1) Toy Story 3
    2) Black Swan
    3) Restrepo
    4) The Social Network
    5) Kick-Ass

(Although I've yet to see True Grit nor The King's Speech, because thanks to people like Bane, award films don't make enough at my local Cineplex to be screened by the company.)

  • Cybernetikscape - 13 years ago

I agree with Bane of Pain.

  • Bane of Pain - 13 years ago

HOW COULD YOU LEAVE OUT TRON?!?!?!?! Tron was my favorite movie this year! Without a doubt! It had something for everyone! Betrayal! Love! Loss! Discovery! Hot girl losing her arm (sorry spoiler XP)! JEFF BRIDGES! LIGHT DISC/CYCLES/TANKS/BUGGY! AWESOME EFFECTS! Why is Tron not on this list? oh well. Tron tops my list, followed by Alice, Harry Potter, Inception... and that's it really. No other movies came out that were really worth seeing...
