Kristin Kreuk from Smallville, she needs her break on the big screen. As a BIG time fan of the Tomb Raider game I never saw Angelina Jolie as Lara. Let's hope the next movies are more for the game fans that the last ones were.

My personal favorite just cause I think she can pull off some action stuff based on her role in television previously and despite being a lousy movie she can do the work, Kristin Kreuk, not to mention she's gorgeous -- but maybe doesn't have the "measurements" or the superstar status to fit the Croft role.
However, I agree with whoever it was before that mentioned Rhona Mitra... I think her or Kate Beckinsale could easily pull off Lara Croft in a new TR film!

Why isn't Angelina Jolie heading this list? I don't get why the press rules her out, unless she's already turned it down. I also agree with the person nominating Emmanuelle Chriqui. I'd also suggest Camilla Belle. But I'm not sure if either could pull off the british accent.

Angelina Jolie. Btw, I happened to enjoy the first two Lara Croft movies that "weren't that great." I thought they were entertaining, action-packed, and funny. I wouldn't like to see anyone else in the role, however, I do find the opinion posted of Kate Middleton to be very funny...and that movie would definitely be entertaining and make millions of dollars.

I think Bridget Regan would make a much better Lara Croft as she already has experience playing an action heroine, (see The Legend of the Seeker where she plays Kahlan Amnell)

How did Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale not make the list? They both are naturally very fit, they proved they can play the action role in Blade Trinity and Underworld. They both have the looks. I think I'd lean towards Kate, but Jessica could definitely pull off the role.

While thinking of a worthy successor to Angie, I just recalled an episode of Doctor Who and the actress in it who impressed me. The producers should check her out. She is Michelle Ryan, British, who was in the Doctor Who episode "Planet of the Dead.” Very Lara Crofty episode of her doing (or her stunt double?) amazing gymnastics to steal from a museum, etc. I always thought DW should have continued with her character. She carried off cheekiness, style, and athleticism plus she is stunning. The Lara Croft folks should look at that episode when making their selection.
