How do you minister to parents?

I'm with George. We had 21 students at our mid-week gathering tonight (up from our previous "plateau" of 15). Of those 21, I could count on one hand how many whose parents were involved in the church. Of those involved in the church, I would only need two or three fingers to count whose parents attend meetings. It's really been burdening me tonight how disconnected our parents are from the lives (esp. spiritual lives) of our students.

I actually do two of them, just because i want to get the info out anywhere I can. I looked at some of the options and a couple of them made me laugh. Why? Because we just don't have dedicated parents to God to come to church on Sunday let alone to a parent meeting on site. I am eager to hear about anyone of the two groups (regular formal parent gatherings - fellowship events, mixers, support groups, etc & regular formal parent meetings) how this gets done.

Ha! I thought my answers would be "stay as far away as possible" but that was not true. :) I did try the parent "gathering/mixer" once (it was actually a parent's idea) but no one showed.
:( At least I know what doesn't work for my people! :)
