I thought concrete cured itself , if anything allow the concrete to go into initial set then spray water on it .

Curing compound is the simplest way to accomplish this, however if I knew the floor was going to be stained or painted, I would go with poly sheeting.

"How WOULD you cure..." or, "how DO you cure..." a garage floor?? Big difference. Also, MY garage, or a "spec house"?? The first "garage" that comes to mind is a residential, new construction, garage floor (assuming any more will ever be built !)
