I just hope that in the movie I can understand how they pronounce their names because when I am reading a name and I don't know how to pronounce it I give it a new name.

@Sophie, How could Madge not be in the films? She was one of my favorites! This is not how I imagined the characters, but calling that Katniss actress a bitch is taking it a bit too far, don't you think? We might be disappointed but I don't think these actors will be Twi-crap--I mean Twilight level sucky. So I'm not the only one who pictured Katniss with black hair and darker skin? THANK YOU! She looks too childish, and Peeta doesn't look exactly sixteen. Gale looks way older than Katniss as well. He was also supposed to have black hair. Also, I think this trilogy could've lived as one book.

What do you think of that?

Right, i've changed my mind. I think Peeta casting is good. Just saw a clip of Josh Hutcherson acting and he has the mannerisms that I think Peeta would have. And his voice is gentle.
I guess this is proof that it's acting over appearance. So I think Katniss and Peeta are pretty good. Maybe Gale would be ok too. I just can't wait to watch this film...

Some of the cast look as I pictured and some don't...
People are worrying about Jennifer Lawrence playing Katniss, but after watching Winter's Bone, I think she'll do ok.
I think Peeta should've been taller and a bit more good looking... His jaw is funny.
And as for Gale, I just can't get over the fact that Liam Hemsworth has been in a Hannah Montana film I think... which puts me off. His brother , Chris Hemsworth, plays Thor though, so I hope he's more like him.
Lenny Kravitz as Cinna... I don't know, I rather have an actual actor play him.
I love the girl who plays Rue. She looks really innocent.
Haymitch is ok. The actor's been in a load of film so he should be good.
Prim looks weird...
Avox girl looks OLD. I thought she'd be younger.
I don't like Effie, because I absolutely hate that actress.
Casting for Cato & Clove are PERFECT. Girl from orphan, hope she acts crazy as Clove trying to kill people.
All the tribute look ok since there's a good mix of different looks.
AND... I'm just really hoping this film isn't sugar coated so that it's for kids too. This film HAS to have fighting/blood and all sort of gruesome/sad scenes because the books are about a DEATH TOURNAMENT. This has to be a SERIOUS film, they better not disney-fy it...
If they do well, I'm really looking forward to this because this film has soooo much potential of being good after reading the books. The books are pretty much begging to be turned into a film, so it better be good.

i disagree with you, katrina, alex pettyfer is far too self centered to be peeta. i mean sure hes super hot and all that. but he doesnt have the compassion and warmth like peeta has. josh hutcherson is an amazin actor and im sure he'll do great as peeta. he has always been sweet in his movies. and he looks like how i imagined peeta! well minus the eyes..... and gale looks semi like what i imagined too. the only thing i find wrong with him is hes a bit to tall and his hair isnt dark enough. but those are just minor details! jennifer lawerence will make an exellent katniss! sure she super pretty, but the books never said katniss wasnt. katniss just called herself ugly. but if she was so ugly how could 2 ht guys fall in loce with her? just give the actors a chance to show you what they got! cuz im sure with how wonderful they are in their other movies they will do great in this. and even if the movie is horrible(i doubt it will be!) then you will still have the book to love.

I have to say that when I first saw the picture I wasn't so sure if it was a good fit then i read the second and third book and it kinda grew on me. If anyone feels that this will ruin the movie then they should calm down and have an open mind. Obviously the movie has a lot to live up to because the book was awesome :) so it might not be amazing but I'm still really excited for it! Can't wait!!!!

I think as long as she can get the attitude right, it won't be too bad, but they need to make her hair and skin darker.

So disappointed with the cast choice, never pictured any of them least say Peeta & Katniss' actors/actress choice, Gale is slightly better..but not really.
Alex Pettyfer would have been a better Peeta, don't know who I'd pick for Gale or Katniss but not them by far. Katniss was very intense & strong, she looks frail. This movie is gonna suck.

I do think they could have picked someone better to play Katniss but i am happy with how she looks in the pictures. And to all that are complaining just Remember that the writer of The Hunger Games gave her approval for the actors that have been cast in this movie so just keep an open mind for when the movie comes out and seriously if you dont like the actors cast then dont go see the movie.

Katniss has darker skin, BLACK HAIR, and GRAY EYES. Jennifer Lawrence is a great actor, and she was brilliant in X-men First Class, but i don't think she's going to have the brutality and coolness that's needed with Katniss.

Just because she's blonde and beautiful doesn't mean she can play Katniss, in fact, she shouldn't play Katniss because of that! Katniss isn't some damsel in distress, she's a hardcore warrior! They better not turn Katniss into a wimp.
