Great comment James. FIFA should be taken apart piece by piece.
But let's not kid ourselves that this only effects FIFA, I bet there are cans of worms at FA's around the world (including the UK) that need opening.

FIFA is living in the dark ages and is in serious need of reform. Blatter has allowed this to happen and whether or not the corruption charges are true he still has to go. The game needs to be brought into the modern era; officials need help from technology, they cannot keep pace with the modern game; almost every game these days has an air of controversy about it. Many players are paid too much money and their actions on the pitch in terms of behaviour towards officials and/or diving continues to go unpunished and makes the whole respect campaign a complete joke. Agents are also not without fault. All of these things are slowly killing our once 'beautiful' game. UEFA and FIFA are unwilling to debate these various areas and have put forward no realistic argument of substance that justifies maintaining the status quo. meanwhile other sports such as rugby have moved so far ahead of football in terms of video replay, citing etc. and its popularity continues to grow because of this. I've heard the same old dross for years that football is different and we can't introduce technology or it will slow the game down. That's complete rubbish and and excuse to block progression. The problem is much bigger than the alleged corrupt goings on at FIFA. Eveyone knows that this stuff goes on just as it does at the Olympic games committees and has been happening for decades. Money is killing our beautiful game both on and off the pitch and a complete branch and root reform is needed.
