1. The pitcher must have his glove on a hand when he approaches the rubber, and may not disengage to change hands once the batter has 1 foot in the box.
2. The batter must declare if he is batting lefty or righty and must at least take one pitch from that side of the plate before switching. With the pitcher restricted from changing during an at bat.
