Keep the Faith..Keep Lou....Everyone needs to step up their game. He is our # 1. The officiating needs to watch that big ogre, he constantly pushes, hits, after whistles. Don't stop Believing.

I think I'll buy a # 35 Jersey. I bet we couldn't even trade # 1 for what were paying him. How do you stop goals on your stomach. I remember they had to pull him in the Olympics too!

  • YOU KNOW - 13 years ago

Of course you go with Louongo in this one. Use Cory for game 6. Lets not forget you have to score some goals also. I think it's time for AV to shake things up a bit. Move Burrows down to play with Kesler and move Hansen or Oreskovic up to play with the Sedin's. Burrows and Kesler will give this team the spark they need.

I think they should also take a long look at how Tampa was able to score on Boston and use that to their advantage. You can't just shoot the puck on net against Thomas. You must give in some angles and get him going east and west. Come AV, I'm not even a hockey player and I was able to figure this one out. Get it done already. Go Canuck's Freaking GO.

poor poor LOUSSSSER not a $ goalie!

COME ON, Cheer LOU & the Boys on. Meet up at the airport to cheer the Canucks on! They need us, Boston is a bully town.Canucks need a little lovin, so be the BEST Fan you can be. They are counting on the fans. GO CANUCKS GO get that cup !!!!

  • Aidan - 13 years ago

There is a reason they brought in a new goalie coach for Lou - his game has been going downhill, while Rollie has stopped Lou from crashing - he is not the goalie he was. I agree he does not steal games. Remember when he used to, that is gone. We can not start Schneider in game 6 if we lose game 5. We need to see what Schneids can do now.

  • robert a - 13 years ago

all TEAM members need to make adjustments. Luongo must stay more upright throughout the game. Canucks must take the man off the puck rather than taking the puck off the man. They must have shorter cycling plays with crisper shorter passes. they must back one another up and not submit to bullying tactics. they need to remind themselves that their fans have'nt given up on them. the wait will make victory sweeter. Go Canucks Go!!

  • Deborah - 13 years ago

Luongo does not stand up under pressure, over rated, very,..overpaid, ... very.
Why risk it? Go with Schneider.

Luongo is NOT consistant,.... mediocre goalie at best.

  • Rod MacDonald - 13 years ago

I think A.V. should go to his no.1 guy(LOUOOOOO) because Roberto got us here and he'll bring us the MOST COVETED CUP!!!!!! This is going to be a HOME & HOME series and that favours THE CANUCKS and LOUOOOOOO's our man between the pipes. The team will rally around him and come back to show those BEAN TOWN BULLIES that we are the President's Trophy Champs. I've waited FORTY YEARS for the cup to be ours!!!!!! :{ ) GO CANUCKS GO

  • Kait - 13 years ago

Luongo is only one component of the Canucks team and he is an outstanding component at that! Majority of the goals scored on him have been the result of TEAM failures, not goalie fumbles. Game 5 starting line-up should have Lu between the pipes

  • Robert - 13 years ago

No way Lou should start. He is not a money goalie. He won a gold medal great - US tied it up in the last minute. Game 7 this year against Chicago Toews late goal while Lou was doing his best Michael Phelps impression. How many times in playoff and olympic games has Lou let in a late goal. 6 blowouts in 13 months of playoff hockey - are you kidding me. Vancouver had better chances (save for the breakaway - which was played at a Bantam C level at best his left side was outside the post) than Boston last night. Lou was a great goalie before Chicago 09 not now. Without solid D he is an average goalie who no longer steals a game. Period.
The look at Salo, give me a break, terrible you do not do that.

  • Ray Forester - 13 years ago

Lou has been flopping around and losing his stick for to long! Its time for the coach to act like one and pull the goalie when its called for! Play Schneider...he is well rested and a better goalie

  • mary bacon - 13 years ago

Let him have a break to get ready for game 6.Schneider mhas been very good,is fresh and putting him in may inspire the rest of them to step it up.What's with the fighting goalie. If he can fight so should we.

I think the blame is on the whole team for losing their focus in Boston. Also the officials need to watch all the cheap shoots that were given behind the plays that went unseen. Boston is a dirty playing team and does not know how to play a fare game. We are also behind the eight ball when the head of the NHL admits publicly in a interview he is not cool for Canadians

  • El good - 13 years ago

I think that we have a good shot with lou in net. and to question our faith in our canucks, just ridiculous. we have what it takes because after all they've been through they are not just going to lay down and die. you have to remember that its their heart that got them this far. our captain has done his job and not complained like the rest of the teams. he just does what he has to and lead our boys to where they need to be. he doesn't need to sink to everyone else's level. if the refs aren't being fair then the canucks should forget about them and just play their game. they've never been a team that has had the favor of the refs or the higher ups in the league. thats why we need to stand behind them no matter what and not be a bunch of band wagon jumpers. the motto is not only if they're winning, its "WE ARE ALL CANUCKS"

  • Postie - 13 years ago

I have no faith in Luongo. Five hole, up stairs, in close, long shots. . 12 goals in two games. Time for coach V to step up make, a decision and shake them up.Bring on Schneider. That being said you can't win if you don't score!

  • David - 13 years ago

Yes start Lou.The players MUST play right to the whistle. NO more trying to get the call from the referee's. Doing that is a waste of time if the play is still happening. They are now behind the play and allowing an odd numbered rush for Boston. Also, MORE bodies in front of the net. NOT just standing there but criss crossing causing moving screens. If they do that there will be a Canuck moving to pick up a lose puck instead of trying to out reach Chara. It will also allow the puck carrier an option to slap pass or create a defelection from the side. Beating Thomas straight on is tough. He opens up the side of the net with all his aggressive style.

  • Inez - 13 years ago

Roberto is our best goalie.....Why do we always blame Luongo when things go wrong.....The 5 other guys on his team need to step up and help Roberto.....Defense has to improve.....Too bad Rome was suspended.....Roberto is our top goalie and should be there unless he gets injured.....Roberto all the way.....Go Canucks Go! I support our team win or lose....I believe they will win, unless Boston plays dirty hockey like they have done in Boston and then Boston wins on poor sportsmanship and dirty pool, then I say "Let them have the cup", but I will be proud of our Canucks for a year of great hockey :)

  • Jan Erik - 13 years ago

Read Schneider's Bio on wiki - He grew up in Boston - It means he knows Boston's style of playing inside and out and as such Schneider is a better goalie, especially against Boston. Remember also Luongo played the first 4 games of the playoffs and appears tired after all he let 12 goals past him in two consecutive games.

  • salsa - 13 years ago

Why not? Why not start with a the goalie that has brought the team this far? Everyone knows what Luongo is capable of, he is only human, he has made mistakes but that doesn't mean we should doubt his abilities, the series isn't over!!

  • Des James - 13 years ago

Luongo should start Friday!!! I agree both defense and offense need to step up, team work. Luongo has been there for us and we need to stand behind him! Us as fans need to be louder ;D GO CANUCKS GO!!!!

  • Debbie H - 13 years ago

I think Luo should start but if he lets in a easy one take him out. I also think the D need to step it up. I like to know when Goalies could get away with the stuff Timmy does never seem a goalie like that since Billy Smith yrs ago.But then the whole team is dirty. Ref need to watch them even after the whistles, unbelieveable what they get away with.

  • Jackie - 13 years ago

P.S. How is a goalie suppose to stay confident when defence isin't there working as a group?
    Come on canucks!

  • D.J. - 13 years ago

Bring in Schneider! Should have been in net "Luongo ago"!
Can't get any worse, why chance the predictable repeats,... slow reflex, loss stick, between the legs easy goals that Luongo's let in.

  • Adrian - 13 years ago

I have to wonder if some of you who are saying "No" are even canucks fans, or are you simply bandwagoners like everyone seems to be? Sure luongo screwed up, but for god sakes, where was the defense and offence? THE ENTIRE TEAM screwed up..we are definetely feeling the loss of Hamhuis in the back end, partially why bieksa is struggling as well. How do you expect schneider to play an entire game when he hasnt played since April? Luongo is our best bet right now.

  • J - 13 years ago

Of course Luongo should start! Boston got some lucky bounces in game 4 and yes, some ref calls and non-calls were one sided. But, last time I checked...Luongo isn't responsible for scoring goals....Forwards step up! Go Canucks Go!!

  • gary - 13 years ago

lou should not have started game 4 after the beating he took in game 3 so no he shouldnt start game 5 he can not take the presure and now he is shell shocked and there is no coming back if they lose tomorrow nite boston will not lose at home

  • Jeff Thompson - 13 years ago

Absolutely Luongo should start. He is the guy who got us to where we are now. He had a rough couple of games but the blame for those two games does not rest solely upon him. Where was the defence? The whole team just needs to get back into the game and forget about "the hit" that seemed to change the attitude of the team. Game 5 will be better.
    GO CANUCKS GO!!!!

  • Jim M - 13 years ago

I would normally say Luongo should start, but after his reaction to the goal that Sami Salo barely affected, he should definitely not. In the Stanley Cup Final you do not sell out your defence like that. Looking up at a 36 year old veteran in an attemp to blame said veteran for a goal that you should of had. Disgusting. What kind of a teammate does that.

  • Jackie - 13 years ago

Roberto should stay, has gotten us this far, what a insult to pull him in game five. I agree the defence needs to shape up. Boston defence has been all over Canucks, it's embarrasing to say the least! Referring is a major problem and very frustrating!

  • roger guigueno - 13 years ago

Luo Gong Show has to start only because of ten million reasons.

  • Ivan Williamson - 13 years ago

Roberto should start because I'm a bruin fan and we need him between the pipes,LOL

  • thomas williams - 13 years ago

I think Luongo is just too tired to be effective in the game. He may be stressed as the general public expect miracles from him. He should sit out the next two games and maybe play if there is a 7th game. The coach should also leave the team.... or maybe take a break from the media...

  • carrie - 13 years ago

The great part of a team is that the whole team should be drawn on in situations like this. The coach should not feed one players' ego and forgo the rest of the teams dream. Let Schneider play and if he flails like Loun then pull him but lets hope Lou gets his mojo back.

  • colin - 13 years ago

They need to give schneider a chance to open, he is a better goalie than luigi bar none and nobody seems to understand that.Luigi has cracked under the pressure once again and let Vancouver down AGAIN.Excuse me while I go out and buy a Boston jersey.

  • Perry Yeung - 13 years ago

Luongo needs to start. Let him and the rest of the team clean up their own mess. It's REALLY dissapointing to watch the last 2 games. But Championship teams will always face adversity. This is another one. This is their chance of a life time to proof to us all.

  • Kelsea Fielden - 13 years ago

Bobby-Lou has gotten THIS FAR, ofcourse we cannot take him out!!
If we had better defence then it wouldnt be a problem!
But I still love the Canucks!! :)

  • Debbie - 13 years ago

Bobby Lou has brought them this far...let him take it all the way! He won the Olympics for us and he will do it now. Referrees in this last game were horrible...Boston won by cheating and unfair refs! Schneider hasn't really played since April. Not a good idea to put him in. Go Louongo!!!! Bring us the cup! (and let us remember the Canucks are a team, the goalie the last line of defense...the tem wins and loses as a team).
