The Advancement Of Local Education Is At An All Time Low. The Options Are Very Limited Parents Are Forced to Send Their Children To Undesirable Schools Due to The economy location And The Zip Code They Live In. Charter Schools Not Only Add Choices But A Higher Standard Of Education For Our Children. The Incentive To Learn Increases In The Mind And Heart Of Students Who Attend Charter Schools As Well.

If districts were doing their jobs, there wouldn't be this outcry.

Because it's not "Keeping Children" from doing anything but rather "Keeping Parents" from having a choice. It's education, I don't understand why we question it. Oh wait, it's always about the money. Does it make sense to question an education option because of the money? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Keeping children from attending a high quality public schooled choice is equivalent to Governor George Wallace standing at the front gates of the University of Alabama preventing blacks front attending a public university. Both are discremenation and are deplorable.

My son attend at Cherokee Charter and we love it, He was the first month at a public school and when I received the mail and don't think twice and switched him for sure was the best decision that i made.

I find it amusing that people like Rick Day find it amusing that people should have a right to speak out over changing what isn't. Like slavery Rick, that used to be the law of the land. Was amending that suiting some narrow purpose?

Every child and parent deserves the right to choose which school is best for their educational needs and not forced to attend schools based on zip codes, district preference or financial concerns. Every child has different needs and learning styles and should be able to choose which school setting and environment meets their needs the best. All schools should have more accountability in providing every student with a quality education.

My son is flourishing at Cherokee Charter Academy. He was not so much at our Cherokee County School District school. I needed another choice for him. The large 5-6 grade school he was slated for was NOT a good fit for HIS needs. We are thrilled with his progress and self-confidence soaring. Something our past school didn't deliver. I am a very involved parent and used to believe that any school can be good if the parent just stays on top of everything. Not anymore, I couldn't help him! MY SON just needed a different environment and without a major legislative change he will be forced to go back to an environment that does nothing for him!

I find it amusing that those who insist the constitution is the 'law of the land' are always the first to want to amend it when it does not serve their narrow purposes.
