Should the Rangers raise the height of the railings at the ballpark?

ESPN kept saying the guy fell to his death. Which wasn't true. They really should have better fact finders. It was super sad and I think some netting would be the perfect addition. Railing won't help.

On Navy ships there is netting along the sides of the ships designed to catch sailors who fall overboard by accident or otherwise. MLB could do the same at relatively inexpensive overhead costs (no pun intended). Seems like a very reasonable fix to me.

Just a bad accident. What fan wouldn’t try to reach out for a memento tossed to them by a sports player. May the family heal quickly and live out life.

I think they should put a chain fence over that area, so that if you fell it would not be a great distance.

It is the saddest and stupidest thing in the world the way reporters have questioned, commented and talked about this very sad ACCIDENT. The most heart warming thing was the fireman as he was dying asked about his son. The reporters used this to tell how that could be used to file a better lawsuit. I get so angry because the big news is not that a man died, but how much can we sue people for. Josh Hamilton was doing the fans a favor and now you are advocating how he can be named in a law suit.
My heart goes out to that family, the son that lost his dad. I wish we had a press that was more concerned with that than trying to make some big lawsuit out of an accident.

It was very tragic what happened yesterday. My heart goes out to the family and the son who witnessed it. I think they should put a safety net or soft mattress type thing on the bottom of the floor.

I think they should raise the height of the rails, along with placing inflatable mats on the ground and giant 25-foot-wide warning signs - AND they should require all attendees to wear helmets.

Come on, even if the rails were 7 feet high, some Darwin Award candidate would climb it to catch a ball, lean over, and fall. Sorry for the boy losing his dad, but that was a really stupid thing to do.

I think that where the fan fell last night you could easily put a net up between the scoreboard and the stands. It would allow airflow would not be seen, and at least in that part of the ballpark would prevent someone from falling all the way down to the ground between the scoreboard and stands. I too was shakened and saddened by last nights tragedy. I had tears in my eyes at hearing the news. I cannot imagine how that little boy must feel. I know it would be devastating if that had happened to our son. Boys depend on their dads for so much, and for this little boy to lose his hero......it is just not right. It was a terrible accident, and no one is to blame, but it still is just not right. I pray for the family, the son, and I pray that God has a plan for them.

I don't think raising the railings is or would be the right thing ... the whole tragedy last night has me shaken up and saddened, and reminds me of the trips to the Ballpark with my son ... I'd suggest adding something that extends outward from the decking below, not necessarily a safety net but something that does not impede on the view (of the field) from the first row, but in the event someone does lean too far over, they'd simply fall a few feet, or maybe it is up high enough that if they start to go over the railing, they can simply put a hand down ... extend it out some 4-5 feet and have it support, at farthest point from the railing, some 1000# ... at worst, this blocks a view to the seats below ... at best, it keeps someone from falling 20-30 feet.

I am not sure I'll ever be able to go to another Rangers game without thinking about this tragedy.

God bless the family, and all of those impacted by this tragedy.
