    What about Bob Miller? He was deserving of being at least mentioned.

    The guy that gets the shaft in this poll is Jim Brewer. People vote for Marshall because he did some extraordinary things but he only pitched for the Dodgers for 2 seasons. Jim Brewer was the Dodgers closer for over ten seasons in the days when the idea of a closer was just starting to be formulated. Most Dodger fans won't know this, but Brewer often "closed" for up to three innings. And with that patented screwball, there was nothing like hearing Vin Scully exclaim, "Screwball, got'em swinging!" well before Fernando Valenzuela ever threw one for the Dodgers. So here's to Jim Brewer. The best closer Dodger fans have forgotten!
