Did the jury get the verdict right in the Alabama bingo trial?

Badly worded polling. The question that should have been asked is do you think the scoundrels were guilty? The answer is YES - good ol' boy Alabama politics at its finest. Do I think they got the verdict right? No, because they are guilty. However, I guess in the context they did get it right because at least they weren't found innocent. If you have ever witnessed gambling addiction you would be sickened at the political "persuading" that went on by Milton McGregor to take advantage of the poor and uneducated only to increase his bottom line. Look at any state with gambling - they're not living high on the hog and making money - only the casino owners are as they take food out of the mouths of children. It brings nothing but more crime, mafia activity and perpetuates addiction. Nothing good ever comes out of that. Just look at Greene Track - been in business for years in Alabama but is the poorest part of our state.

The poll is worded oddly. Yes vote- I think the jury got it right. No vote - I think the jury should have come back with a resounding not guilty all defendants, all counts. So the results could be very misleading. Reword the poll and try again.

This investigation was based on a personal vendetta Riley had against McGregor. The investigation was slanted. Guarantee the results would have been the same or worse had they investigated those opposed to SB380. Bob Riley is 100% behind this and the media and prosecutors let him off scott free.

If they would let the people of Alabama vote on whether or not to have bingo halls, all this would not be going on. Just let the people vote.

Ed and Gary get it. Political vendetta orchestrated by prior administration. Great use of scarce public resources to attempt to ruin enemies.
We uns get: no home rule (Beason); unconstitutional immigration law (Beason); and Beason is the lead off batter of Team U.S.A. As a fine lawyer asked: "What must you have said when you were not being recorded?" Think 'ole Scotty will testify in the re-trial? Sure he will.

Well, this is Alabama at its best. Proof that tapes of bribes being taken still get a not guilty verdict. I used to think Louisiana was the most corrupt state in the country but after today and all of the other crooks that have been prosecuted, Alabama holds the title of MOST corrupt. These jurors must have slept through the entire trial. WOW.

So sad that some of our politicians can't seem to get it right. This was a head hunt from the beginning to the end. Some should be put on trial for their misguided spending of tax payer money.

They are guilty I say!!! Evidence and laws be damned!

This was a one hundred per cent political prosecution to affect the outcome of the 2010
elections. Every one should have been found not guilty.

Just shows that some people in this state have no concern that the peoples' representatives votes can be bought (bribed).
