Stop being so harsh it's all a matter of opinion. You like who you like. Albums sold have everything to do with who is better. Stupid scandals are the only way to get fame and wonderful vocals just mean shit. For example, shaving your head is the perfect way for people to feel bad for you, resulting in music award nominations and "fans" buying your albums. Having songs with real meaning and emotion isn't important, all you need is a shit voice, auto tune, song writers, and a pretty face. Haha and having one Grammy is so much better than 5 right? This is ridiculous. Christina gets no credit for what she's done. She is not as popular as Britney but only because she lives life between each album. Britney pops out the albums like her miscarriages, while Christina waits about 4 years, lives life and grows as a person so she can be inspired. Ha, britney is not an icon. She has done nothing for pop music because she doesn't write any of her songs. Her producers do all the work, she's just a puppet. Christina is involved with the music she makes, she is in charge of her albums making or breaking. I respect that about her. Not to mention that she was a trendsetter, she made the throwback sound popular in 2006 and the circus theme was done by her first before pink or britney did it.
Britney should be compared with Kesha or Rihanna, not Christina. She is no wear near Christina's talent or world wide acclaim.

Both now have lost their luster... Britney's downfall was Kevin and Christina after her statement that Back to Basics (8 million) would outsell The Emancipation of Mimi (12 Million) I lost a lot of respect for Christina. She's cocky and arrogant for absolutely no reason. You don't hear anything nice from other artists about Christina. She was talented but she's reaping what she sewed. Her voice WAS great now she sounds like... Well I'm not gonna go there. Just listen to her live from 2008 to 2011. Her voice and sound is shot just like her career. But there is still hope for Britney she still has a great personality and still humble... She's just crazy as hell. Plus she has her children to see about. When they both first broke out into the music industry, I loved them both but Britney always had a special spot in my heart... she managed to give me the thrills through the lyrics she sang through her soft voice. Christina Aguilera, used to be decent when she was still pop but her downfall was when she discovered that she had a several octave voice... because she started changing her music style... and in the end it was not pop anymore but more like soul music/jazz kind of. Britney has stuck to the genre although she, during her private life issues era (Blackout album) had some hip hop beats to her music. Today, Britney came back with Femme Fatale, which is by me one of her best albums. Christina hasn't released as many albums, and when she did, they unfortunately were not as successful as Ms. Spears'. I think that the insight on an artist's private life can help sell; we all know Britney and the paps are a long story but we managed to see that Britney was a human being like us, who cries and who feels down sometimes. Christina never used the media to show us that very side of her so we may not feel as sympathetical towards her. Britney, since almost the beginning took the lead over Christina, she began her career before and took a bigger lead in 2001 with her Britney album. I would like to see Christina do something nice to comeback with, and why not collaborate with Britney to boost her own career: it has been my dream since they both started their career.

Christina is done! I can seriously say that as a fact, just look at her sales. Nobody cares about her anymore. Britney has always been on top and she outsold everyone during her prime. She's even at the top right now competing with the newbies, 13 years into her career. After 13 years you'd think her popularity would have gone down, especially after her breakdown. NOPE! okay....lets look at the facts....Britney Spears and Christina both burst into the scene at the same time....Britney released her album and sold 14 mil.....Christina not so many....Even when Britney was at her lowest point in her career, Christina could not even out sale her.....yeah, christina has a great voice and anybody who says otherwise would be a lie...she has an amazing voice however, in todays society voice isnt the only attribute....in 20 years, britney will still be a pop culture history....its a shame that we have to wait till both their funerals to know but trust me.....britney is by far the biggest female pop phenomenon of the 20th and 21st century...
