Part of the OCCUPY movement is exactly this, as Ilene Cummings pleaded (previous Comment here) - that we want government to focus on morally proper treatment of its people. NOT of its Corporations. NOT of its benefactors and funders. NOT of its political debts and debtors. NOT of its "bottom lines", but rather of the Triple Bottom Line, to wit:
THE MESSAGE from the OCCUPY MOVEMENT
OCCUPY is precisely about Climate Change: taking individual and socio-polotical responsibility for it and for its direct and semi-direct impacts on life for ALL of the LIVING EARTH: people, foods that we grow, the ecology the we both require to maintain a Life Environment in which the consumers and the consumed are all thriving and by definition, are all INTER-DEPENDENT (i.e. ecologically stable).
PLANNING for and IMPLEMENTING PLANS for the FUTURE:
To survive in any serious fashion humans must plan NOW to adapt to centuries of harder living, of dramatically different stresses, et al.
