not saying Cy Young is not a valuable fantasy commodity...just prefer the Ks over the Ws.

150 KS is a legitimate benchmark for a good SP. Maybe 40-45 pitchers get as much per year. That is 1 or 2 per team. PFB said Cy Young got "no Ks" and "not a lot of other stats". To ignore 35 Wins, a sub 2.00 ERA, a sub 1.00 WHIP and a few saves over 400 IP basically ignores the "other stats" that every other fantasy league says count. Those stats are "realistic" because it happened. Cy Young pitching every 3rd day is "realistic" because it happened - for 15+ years.

Also, if PFB wants this blog to be taken seriously, PFB should be professional. Don't use "LOL" to suggest you are laughing out loud at a reader. It's insulting, especially when it is in response to a suggestion that the most famous, most accomplished, most durable and best pitcher of all time might - just might - be a good place to start your fantasy team.

150 Ks? are you serious? that is nothing compared to what Nolan Ryan or Randy Johnson gives you...the 35 wins was because the dude was starting every 3rd day. Not realistic at all. I can't believe you said 150 Ks...Craig Kimbrel, a closer, might end up with 150 Ks this year. 150 Ks...lol

Cy Young is a horrible pick? Yeah, right. Cy led the league in Ks twice and has a ton of seasons with 150+ Ks. At his peak, he gets you 30-35 Wins, an ERA under 2.00, a sub-1.00 WHIP, and he led the league in saves twice too!

Oh, and God forbid your league counts CGs or Shutouts. You would only need to draft maybe 2-3 other starters, and invest all your other picks in stud hitters. At Cy's prime, he was twice the pitcher that Pedro Martinez was at his prime. That is unfathomable!

PFB needs to do its research before writing off the most accomplished pitcher of all time.

It is assuming what we know about these players and their potential. Babe has the greatest 2 seasons in fantasy history but it depends on your strategy. PFBs voted for Rickey...can not beat 130 SBs potential...that locks it up right there. then on the swing picks 20/21 you could fill in the gaps. Cy Young is a horrible pick...no Ks really and not alot of stats with all those IPs.

Honestly, the answer depends on when you get the player in question. Is it their best year? If so, then I think it's got to be Ruth. Is it from their rookie year? And a keeper league? Then Pujols becomes the favorite.

The wild card is Henderson. The idea of literally locking up two categories (SBs and Runs) with only one player is very enticing.

Pitching is pitching. I'd be more likely to go for Cy Young over anybody (hitter or pitcher), take the 400+ innings, and then not have to take another SP for like 12 rounds.
