How often do you click on ads on the Web?

If I like what I'm reading I click an ad or two on the page to show my support. Consider it a micropayment :)

I can tell that the Ads are flashing, flying, but i'm just get used to ignore. In fact I don't see any of the details of the them. So almost no clicking at all.

Sites with obtrusive flash adds I find I will rarely visit again. Those really piss me off.

The fact that I know the name "The Deck" off the top of my head speaks volumes. I appreciate their ethic and style. Most of my (very few) ad clicks go to them and similar "small, tasteful, and one-per-page" ads.

I only click on search results ads when I was trying to find a company/product's web site anyway and it's a reflexive thing (I don't read before I click, other than to make sure the URL isn't third-party).

As a rule I don't use an adblocker subscription list (web sites aren't free), but I do make custom filters when I find especially offensively-designed ads (flashy, cover the content, etc). And then FlashBlock takes care of Flash ads.

Terrible poll. What kind of web ads? I hardly ever click on display ads, but I click on Search Ads very often.

Although I choose never (because rarely still implies enough clicking to be statistically relevant) there ARE once-in-a-million occasions where I will click an ad if it's on a site (such as Smashing Magazine) and it's directly relevant to an article I'm reading and interested in enough to follow up to try and find products that do what the article is about. However, such adverts are usually provided by suppliers very closely linked to the author of the article. 'Random' ads on web pages are completely irrelevant to me and I'll either block them or totally ignore them. Clearly people like Google maker pots of money at serving ads, but I wonder just how much return the advertisers themselves make on their spend?

Even though I don't use an adblocker and I see all the ads, I ignore them. I assume other people must behave differently, but I do wonder how online ads are worth it, by any calculation. I'm so anti-attuned to ads that when something online has background coloring like Google's sponsored links, I automatically ignore it, even when it's a meaningful part of a website.

Relevant quality ads do grab my attention. I often click on ads from networks like the deck and fusion and try to keep them unblocked in my adblocker. Otherwise I either use the blocker, or ignore any useless, ugly or irritating ads.
