With So Many Stores Opening On Thanksgiving, Has Black Friday Gone Too Far?

So, the stores open because people will go, not the other way around. People want to shop on Thanksgiving night. If not, the stores would be closed. Countless hours and dollars are spent on real life market research by the big bad corporations, who have determined that it will be good for their bottom lines to open. Shop or don't, that is your choice and your voice. Don't blame the companies for giving the public what it wants.

If people wouldn't shop at those stores on Thanksgiving, these store wouldn't be able break up the family tradition of Thanksgiving. Families want to be together not have a loved one missing because of a shopper. All that shopping can certainly wait one day!

Talk about Wall Street greed! Black Friday is a perfect example of the greed in all of us.

Every year it gets a little worse. The real reason for the season has become lost in a scramble to march to the beat of the corporate drum.
As for me, I'm done with it. From now on the shopping I do will be done close to home in the local independent stores..AFTER the Black Friday crowds have come and gone.
